"This one is intact, has one slider stem broken, (bass decay) It needs full calibration. All the membranes are functioning. When lifting the top to service the bass 4ft and the hollow wave goes blank. Every other membrane is 100 percent"

Arabian Mystery - Buchla 200e System 7

Published on Mar 9, 2016 PaulLawlerMusic

"First patch with the Buchla System-7. Getting to know a few of the modules at a time.
The audio is a little out of sync. The Arabian melody should match the light patterns from the 250e.

stg voltage controlled switch

"The talking stops at 4 min so skip forward if you just want to listen to the track. I'm demonstrating how voltage controlled switching and morphing can really bring a ton of movement to a patch. The STG voltage controlled switch I'm using is the prototype rev2 and rev3 is apparently being built right now and hopefully thats the last round and they'll start shipping soon. This product has been years in the making"

Live Jam #25 - Slow evolving drone / Ambient - Self playing patch on Eurorack modular synthesizer

Published on Mar 9, 2016 TRM

"Not so much a jam. I recorded a self playing patch on a rainy Sunday morning. The recording lasts as long as one cycle of the slowest running LFO in the patch. Audio is recorded in one take, on one track as always, but my camera decided to stop recording after a few minutes. All shots with the same angle as the first and last synth shot are realtime, all others are not. I mixed in some views from my studio, and kept the ambient sound recordings. Some of the bird sounds are made by actual birds.

Patch description:
Main drone is a sine from the Dixie II through the uFold an MMG. Three slow running lfo's from the a143-4 and the triangle mix out are modulating folds, symmetry, frequency cutoff and resonance. Square from the same Dixie is running through the wasp filter, modulated with slow random voltages from Peaks.
Random out from the a118 is advancing the clock divider. Several divisions are triggering AD envelopes on the Quadra. One is hitting the strike input of the Lxd, with noise passing through. That output is send to the echo, which is modulated by a tri LFO from the MFB.
Other envelopes from the Quadra are send to 3 VCA's, allowing different modulation to go to the Dixie II's 1v/oct and FM input. And a ramp shape to a second Lpg on the Lxd with noise.

Google Celebrates Clara Rockmore's Birthday on Their Home Page

Check it out. Clara Rockmore with a theremin.

https://www.google.com

Today is Clara Rockmore's birthday. Via wikipedia:

"Born as Clara Reisenberg in Vilnius, Vilna Governorate (now Lithuania), Rockmore was a child prodigy on the violin and entered the Saint Petersburg Conservatory at the age of five. She remains to this day the youngest student ever to be admitted to the institution. She studied violin under the virtuoso Leopold Auer. Unfortunately, bone problems due to childhood malnutrition forced her to abandon violin performance past her teen years. That, however, led her to discover the newborn electronic instrument the theremin, and become perhaps its most renowned player."

The DS and DGS Sequencers in Audulus

Published on Mar 8, 2016 Bimini Road

Get Audulus for: iOS | Mac | Windows/Linux

"New with Audulus 3.1: The melody and rhythm of this self-generated music patch is a product of the interrelationship of the DS and DGS modules. The DS modules are determining the pitches and modulating parameters while the DGS modules are triggering the envelopes. The DGS module is also feeding back into the DS module. The tempo and feel is largely a product of the way the DS and DGS modules are driven - in this case by 3 different self-modulating LFOs.
