BURG - Album Movement 08 (Nord Lead A1, KORG ms-20, JX-03, TR-8)

"If you like my stuff, please support me on http://music.ollilab.com

This track is inspired by the artist that has meant the most for me in my musical career. Not an single tune passes by in my studio, without me thinking about the master of electronic music, Jean-Michel Jarre... this is my hommage to him and his music. Thank you for all the inspiration throughout the years...!

Its a melody that talks to me about day dreaming, and taking off into the skies... free like a bird.

Clearly the NLA1 pads are a bit low at times (chord progressions cant really be heard at times), this is something i can fix in the 16 track post mix if this track makes the short list for the album. Also this is a bit more stripped down and less 4 on the floor style.. i wanted some counterbalance to the darker tunes. Also, there is a minor glitch on one spot.. but the melodies and solos felt so great on this first take.. so i wanted to keep it. Enjoy! :)

Gear Used: KORG volca sample, Elektron Analog Four, Roland Aira TR-8, System-1, Roland boutique JX03, Nord Lead A1, arturia microbrute, SQ-1 (playing a track on the NLA1), TB-3.

FX and Mixer: PreSonus StudioLive 16.0.2, KORG kaoss pad, SolidgoldFX electroman, Zoom MS70 CDR"

"Near mint Twisted-Electrons Therapsid synthesizer with 6581 SID chip installed. See the official website for videos, sound demos and more information. Comes with 15V power supply.

The SID chip is genuine as far as I can tell (I haven't opened the synth to confirm) with all the lovely, weird quirks it has.

This synth was built in December 2015, has only been used for a few hours in a clean home studio and handled gently."

"Mutable instruments modal synth, in excellent condition. Slight rack rash. Latest firmware installed allowing the module to function in 3 different ways, like having 3 synths in one."

That's one thin eurorack module.

Cycle Dub - A eurorack modular synthesizer patch.

Published on Mar 11, 2016 Luke Killen

"Cycle Dub is a Deep, self running dub. The bassline is a modulated Mutable Instruments Braids in FM mode to push out some deep and clean sub Bass frequencies.

The rhythm is a simple set of triggers coming from a Delphtronics trigger man. The triggerman is clocked by one channel of a 4MS QCD which is being modulated by a Xoac Tirana which is clocked from a Abstract Data AED32. the ADE32 is reseting the Tirana every once in a while and also reversing it every so often.

The pitched snare is from a modulated Noise Engineering Basimilus Iteratus.

Hats are noise from a Steady State Fate Ultra-Random Analog filtered through a Intellijel uVCF which is being modulated by a Make Noise Maths.

The Maths provides an EG for the hat's envelope. The left channel of the Maths also modulates the Timbre input of the Braids with a short attack and release envelope.

A mutable instruments Rings provides one of the the two sound effects. It is filtered through a WMD/SSF Pole Zero and is ducked using an inverted envelope output from a Frequency Central X envelope. The trigger follows that of the kick which is a Mutable Instruments Peaks.

The hats are also ducked by the X envelope.

The other effect sound is a Mannequins Mangrove frequency modulated by A WMD/SSF Spectrum, which is modulated on the 1v/oct by a Make noise Rene and a Tiptop z8000 via an Intellijel uScale 2. (One on the Input and one on the Transpose).

Reverb and Delay are provided by Plugins live in the DAW."

Roland Boutique Trio - JX03, JU06, JP08, and a Korg Minilogue - Ensoniq EPS16+

Published on Mar 11, 2016 Earmonkey Music

"This video features all three Roland Boutique modules. I used my Ensoniq EPS 16+ and mapped each unit across the keyboard. the JX is on MIDI channel 1, the JU on 2, and the JP on 3. The Ensoniq allows you to split the keyboard across the units and the MIDI channels. The Korg Minilogue is playing a simple sequence and it is running through a Roland RE-301 tape delay. The Boutiques get their FX from their internal chorus (or dual mode split for the JP08), and I added some Valhalla reverb and delay. This is a very cool combo and a fun way to play all three units live from one keyboard. The Ensoniq will sequence each unit too if I wanted, and I may try that at some point. Enjoy"
