" Electrocomp Model 500 Synthesizer
Electronic Music Labs Inc.
Vernon, Conn. 06066

My father, Wally Cirillo, owned this Classic Electrocomp Model 500 Synthesizer.

This was Wally Cirillo’s (Famous Jazz Pianist) first ever synthesizer that he owned.

My Father could make this thing sing like a canary.

Beside his Steinway Concert Grand Piano, this was his baby.

Just a few years before he passed away in 1977 he purchased his Arp 2600 Synthesizer and then this one, got put away and stored until now.

I was going threw some of his stuff that we had put away and found this. I forgot about this synthesizer, I figured his Family (sister) had taken it just like all of the Autographed Albums of my Dad & Joe made. To my surprise it still looks & Plays great! I plugged it in and hooked it up to my Amp and it still worked making those great sounds.
39 years in storage and in a homemade carrying case Wally Built for it. WOW!

There are some issues: the Slides move but with some resistance. (Needs to be cleaned).
There are 3 broken slides that can be repaired, and some Scratches and dings from being used and or stored.
The Keys are as white as the day they were put on. There is on the bottom a Number scratched into it. 524

I’m assuming that this is the serial Number? Not sure, there is no other markings on the synthesizer except for the front panel.
This is a Great Fixer Upper for the Vintage Musical Instrument collector’s out there."

Live Korg Volca Jam 35 : Microkorg, Korg Volca & Renoise

Published on Apr 20, 2016 Todd Smith

"I've taken a few days to explore Renoise more and try to get it work with Ableton the way I like it and pretty much nailed it last night. In this jam I don't push past 16 bars but I'm running a 16 bar 4 pattern loop that cuts the Volca Bass every other pattern so I take small advantage of external sequencer. I'm using Renoise to mute my VST and sample based tracks with PC keyboard. The Korg Volca Bass , Korg Volca Keys and Korg Volca Beats are sequenced by midi with Renoise. I use the local knobs to control the Korg Volca parameters and volume. The Korg Volca Beats only supplies the high hats , the snare and kick are samples from Renoise. I used A few VST's for background sequences. The ReFX Nexus and LennarDigital Sylenth1 are sequenced and muted by Renoise. The Microkorg is played live and supplies a pad and FX.

2016 Torino Synth Meet 6th Edition Previews

"This year the Torino Synth Meeting confirms its international character with a number of foreign exhibitors. NON LINEAR LABS, JOMOX, MODAL ELECTRONICS, BIRD KIDS, ELEKTRONMUSIK STUDIO and YAMAHA are new to TSM2016; ARTURIA, ROLAND, YAMAHA, DSI, GRP SYNTHESIZER, FRAP TOOLS, SOUND MACHINES, ELEKTRON, MOOG, NOVATION, EUTERPE SYNTHESIZER LABORATORIES, PATCHBLOCKS, TEENAGE ENGINEERING, RADIKAL TECHNOLOGIES, WALDORF have confirmed attendance for this year.

In particular, we will be hosting some great previews: ARTURIA with the MATRIXBRUTE and KEYSTEP, YAMAHA with the MONTAGE, NON LINEAR LABS with the C15 synthesizer, SOUND MACHINES with their MODULOR114, FRAP TOOLS with the CGM modular mixer, JOMOX with their new creations and some other surprises (keep your eyes on GRP Synthesizers :-) )

For this year the meeting is open to new sectors of the music industry including DJ tools, Recording labels, Studio furniture, and schools and academics.  The first record label at the event will be ANALOGIC DENSITY from Italy.  MUSICLAB and IN.SINTESI (recording studio and academy) will be present.

TSM has earned the patronage of the CITTÀ DI TORINO for the artistic relevance of the event, and from the DAMS of UNIVERSITA' DI TORINO. The course in DAMS (Disciplines of Performing Arts, Music and Entertainment) is the reference training program of the University of Turin for film, music, television, new media, performing arts, and contemporary arts. It actively collaborates with the most important cultural institutions of Torino and Piedmont (National Cinema Museum, Conservatory “Giuseppe Verdi”, Film Commission, Teatro Piemonte Europa, Piemonte dal Vivo (Theatrical Circuit of Piedmont), Teatro Stabile di Torino, Regional Division of Cultural Heritage and Landscape, Fondazione per Scuola della Compagnia di San Paolo, Turin Film Festival, and Fondazione CRT).

TSM has the honor of hosting an Italian reality, the ADO Arduino Disability Orchestra, a project aimed at people with disabilities made by students of the Politecnico di Torino, and based on the famous ARDUINO board, a platform made of specific tools and controllers that have enabled these people to be able to play, effectively creating a full orchestra.

But that's not all! More surprises are coming in the next few weeks!

On request, the period for registration at TSM has been further extended.  Those who want to participate with their company can contact us at info@synthmeeting.com

As usual, for the visitors, the entrance is FREE"
