VirSyn Introduces VoxSyn Vocoder Vocal Sound Generator for iPad / iPhone

Published on Jun 23, 2016 virsyn

iTunes: VoxSun - VoxSun Telecom

"VoxSyn turns your voice into the most flexible vocal sound generator ever. Instantly following even subtle modulations of pitch and spectral changes of your voice VoxSyn creates signature vocal sounds far beyond traditional vocoding.

Talk or sing into the microphone and you’ll trigger various synthesizer sounds following your voice pitch or the notes touched on the hexagonal keyboard / external MIDI Keyboard. The basic sounds are selected from a vast pool of predefined sounds from the famous TERA synthesis engine which can be further expanded by its unique random sound generator.

The harmonic table note layout visualizes your voices pitch in realtime and also let you play notes for more traditional vocoder effects."

Vintage Synth Lab VCF-74 Voltage Controller Filter Eurorack Module

"Voltage Controller Filter

The VCF-74 is a 14HP analog voltage controlled filter in Eurorack format. VCF-74 features a dual analog highpass and lowpass filter, cascaded (series, from HP > LP). The discrete diode filter circuit is inspired by the 1970s Univox Mini-Korg synthesizer's "Traveler" filter section which provides warm, organic sound to your modular system. A stage boost switch allows you to drive the 2nd filter section (Low-Pass) with a +5.3dB signal boost from the High-Pass output signal creating a warm saturation. Independent manual resonance controls per filter section allows you to fine-tune a wide variety of focused sound. Input and Output level controls allow you to optimize dynamic range, including how hard you drive the filter--which drastically changes the dynamic interplay between signal and harmonic resonance. Both High-Pass and Low-Pass circuits have independent "offset" controls that will allow for fine tuning of each filter's cutoff. The VCF-74 can be set up as a Low-Pass, High-Pass, or Band-Pass filter. Width of the Band-Pass can be adjusted by simply dialing in the offset controls appropriately.

"This TG33 has been cleaned inside and... out as much as was feasible. It is fully functional and comes with the original power supply. The volume potentiometer is new, button contacts have been cleaned, and the data entry potentiometer upgraded to one with a more durable metal shaft. I have taken pictures to help highlight the "patina" this thing has endured. In some way it adds a little bit to the gritty look of the machine. Since it has a specific DAC, the sound has some of this same grit to it. 2 FM voices and 2 AWM per patch give it a wide palette of sound and the mod stick, which can be used for performance or for recording modulations to be repeated give this thing a unique set of features in the long line of Yamaha FM synths."

ADDAC 501 and WMD SSM

Published on Jun 23, 2016 Dimitrios Sismanis

"First romp feeding the ADDAC 501 into the WMD SMM. Crazy source of random, but rhythmic modulation.

Voices:
Piston Honda into MMG and then 4MS DLD. Sequenced by the Turing Machine. Attenuated pulses from gate out 1 and 2+4 feed MMG strike and accent respectively. Mode and frequency of MMG modulated by 501/SSM combo. Wave and bank of Piston Honda modulated by 501/SSM.

Cyclbeox into VCA, then Phonogene then Polaris, ending in Clouds. Cutoff of Polaris modulated by Expert Sleepers/Silent Way random step LFO. Phonogene gene and slide modulated by 501/SSM.

Roli Seaboard Rise controlling Mutable Instruments Rings into Clouds. XY pad of Rise controlling damping and position of Rings.

Drums from DRM1."

Two Synth Events at Control Voltage in Portland This Weekend

via Control Voltage

"Basic Synthesis 6: Voice Construction
Saturday, June 25th, 1-2pm, Free

Join us this Saturday for the final session in our current Basic Synthesis series - a set of recurring casual presentations usually held every-other Saturday, each an hour in length with ample time for questions. The purposs is to de-mystify the synthesizer piece-by-piece using the modular synth.

The session is all about building complete synthesizer voices with eurorack modules using a couple different manufactures as well as from keyboard synth makers like Moog, Arturia, Korg, Elektron, Novation and Dave Smith Instruments.
Presented by Joseph Pailo.

"Toppobrillo, Antimatter & Moffenzeef Demo
Sunday, June 26th, 2-3:30pm, Free

Control Voltage will be hosting a three-manufactuer demo by synth module manufacturers Toppobrillo Music Electronics of Oakland, CA, Antimatter Audio and Møffenzeef Mødular from Portland, OR!

Toppobrillo will be demonstrating the new Stereomix fully featured voltage controlled output mixer, the Triple Wavefolder waveshaper and the Quantimator multifunctional quantizer.

Antimatter Audio will demonstrate the Launch Codes compact trigger and gate sequencer, the Sub Ring mixer/sub octaves/ring mod/noise generator, and the Brain Seed CV recorder/generator.

And new manufacturer Møffenzeef Mødular will also be showing off his lo-fi digital drum module, the GMØ, along with the alternative firmwares: BØBCAT and MØNGREL.

After the demos, all three manufacturers will answer questions and provide hands on demonstrations.

Presented by Josh Thomas of Toppobrillo, Jeph Nor of Antimatter Audio and Ross Fish of Moffenzeef.
