Improvisation LXVIII: DSI Prophet '08

Published on Jul 10, 2016 Sacred Synthesis

"This bit of music is only a demonstration of a sound. The piece, which was played entirely on one keyboard, uses a patch that includes no less than five types of modulation. It demonstrates how dense and immense the Prophet '08 can sound. All the more reason to combine a keyboard with a module...or two!

Instrumentation:
DSI Prophet '08 Keyboard
DSI Prophet '08 Module

Effects:
Reverb from Lexicon MX300

Performed live and recorded directly to CD

Timbre Wolf's Unison Mode

Published on Jul 10, 2016 HardtekStudios

"Playing around with the Akai Timbre Wolf's Unison mode using all four synth voices/tracks stacked on top of each other for super thick lead & bass patches. All four synths are being output via the main out; mixing all sound into one mono output. The demo was started with track 1 and each consecutive track was slowly brought in."

Rheyne - Sequenced Jam (Mother-32, 0-Coast, Hall of Fame, Demora - no computer)

Published on Jul 10, 2016 Rheyne

"A 'Sequenced Jam' using 3x Moog Mother-32 synths, a Make Noise 0-Coast, reverb from a TC Hall of Fame, and delay from a Roland Demora. No computer or MIDI was used - all notes are from the Mother 32 sequencers, and all modulations are from the synths. Audio was recorded straight from the mixer.

"We just got our hands on a newly-restored vintage MiniMoog Model D from the 70’s! This one is owned by one of our favourite rock stars, but it’s been in storage for many years and needed some serious TLC."

"This amazing synthesizer is in perfect condition. It comes with its original box and manual. The original Moog patch cables are unused (I already had lots of patch cables to use with it). Two 1/4" to Cinch-Jones cables are included (purchased from Synthesizers.com) to allow you to trigger the envelopes without the keyboard. This synthesizer is a joy to sequence.

The Model 15 is a careful replica of the original. Moog painstakingly hand assembled these modular reissues with vintage parts. The sound is huge--it is like having a modular Model D, but with the legendary fixed filter bank, full ADSR's, and more."
