DIY Guitar Effects in Eurorack - Filter Delay

Published on Aug 1, 2016 Endangered Audio Research Video

"From Verbos Site:

For the first time in Eurorack, this oscillator module provides outputs for the first 8 harmonics as sine waves. Also included are triangle, saw, square waves. A voltage controlled mixer with various methods of address allows the user to scan, tilt and mix the harmonics from both panel and external voltage control.

It is built on a discrete, all analog triangle core with an old school discrete transistor exponential converter. It has inputs for linear and exponential FM, the exponential with a reversing attenuator. Of course there's a 1 volt/octave trimmed CV input as well."

Ninstrument TRISPECTRUM Prototype Eurorack Module Based on Three WMD/SSF Spectrum OSCs

via Ninstrument where you'll find additional pics and details.

"I mentioned the TRISPECTRUM in the last video I published below. The start of that voyage was getting and using just one Spectrum OSC from WMD & SSF. Once I had a chance to really put that OSC thru its paces, I have to admit I really fell in love with it. Those guys nailed it as far as I was concerned. The more I used it, I thought, “this would be even better if I could stack three of them together”. Having the ability to sync all three and individually pull each one in and out of sync would be cool. Waveform switching like on the Mini Moog and mutes and attenuators made sense from a performance aspect as well.

The Ideas came hard and fast. Before you knew it I had my first prototype. Pictured here."

Some shots of the inside below, including a pretty cool shot of one of the circuit boards with some light passing through.

Auction description: "One word best describes this MiniMoog: Minty! Not as in peppermint, but as in mint condition. This Mini has lived comfortably in an air-conditioned living room beside my beloved Steinway Model B for the last 30 years and played only by me, the owner. Never on the road. The circuitry is 100% pure, unadulterated analog factory original stuff, no MIDI modifications or added junk.

This is the real deal, the one you’ve been waiting for. Beautiful wood, no significant dents or dings, no gashes. Knobs, wheels and switches are all original and mint with glistening aluminum inserts, panel is perfect, clean, lovely. Pots are perfect, no noise, no static, no hum. Includes the revered buffer board. Fine, solid white Modulation Wheels with all stops, not the cheesy ribbed plastic. All 3 oscillators are perfect, stable, pure. Even the 440 oscillator is on pitch. Keyboard needs new bushings, and the red power light needs to be replaced, but all else is pure unadulterated awesomeness. Once used in concert here in Atlanta by Rick Wakeman when his own Model D was down for the count.

This is no fake remake; this is the real McCoy. Own it. Play it. Love it. Make Bob Moog proud. Included is the vintage, original Tom Rhea MiniMoog Sound Charts book, which shows exactly how to recreate ELP/Keith Emerson’s Aquatarkus, Rick Wakeman’s Catherine of Aragon, steel drums, jet engines, earthquakes – 51 sounds in all! Maxwell House percolator tune? MiniMoog Model D is on it. This unit does it all! Serial number in the Golden 5,000’s when the bugs were worked out, but the glitches of tawdry modernization and volume production had not set in. As you can see from the pics, this baby is built by hand. Not only is it the best-looking Mini you’ve ever laid eyes on, it’s the best-sounding Mini you’ve ever laid ears on!"

"It came out in mid/late 70s (pre-MIDI) and features some control over the synth sounds plus a built in drum machine. It is missing one of the knobs. The auto-accompany can be turned on or off and split at the keyboard (rhythm vs melody). There's a built in speaker but it can be bypassed using the audio outs. This makes it easy to implement in your home studio. They really built instruments to last in the 70s. The DS-50 is made of metal and really well constructed. Original power cord is included."

You can find a demo of one posted here.

Wav Trigger Eurorack Module with 16 sockets , triggered by Game System , Modular Sampler

Published on Aug 1, 2016 HOX808

"The famous Korg Minipops 7 sounds loaded onto the SD card. controlled by various sequencers."

Info on Wav Trigger board used in this module by HOX808, via sparkfun:

"Description: The WAV Trigger is a unique high-fidelity polyphonic audio player with surprising capabilities. Supporting up to 2048 uncompressed 16-bit, 44.1kHz wav files – the same quality as an audio CD – the WAV Trigger can play and mix up to 14 stereo tracks simultaneously and independently, with very low latency. Tracks can be controlled via 16 programmable trigger inputs, or by using a native serial control protocol or even MIDI.

Trigger inputs can be connected directly to switches and buttons, or to digital outputs from sensors or another microcontroller. Alternate functions can be specified using a free cross-platform GUI application, and allow triggers to play sequential or random tracks, pause and resume groups of tracks and even control volume. An Arduino library allows for complex serial control like real-time mixing, starting multiple tracks in sample-sync and smooth cross-fading between tracks.

On-board sample rate conversion allows for smoothly changing playback speed/pitch from 0.5x to 2x. in real-time.

MIDI allows you to use the WAV Trigger as a polyphonic sampling synthesizer to play your own sounds from any MIDI keyboard controller. MIDI Channels and Note numbers are mapped to track numbers, and MIDI Controllers adjust volume as well as attack and release times. MIDI Program Change is supported to switch between up to 16 banks of 128 sounds. The WAV Trigger audio engine even implements, pitch bending, voice stealing (oldest playing voices are used for new MIDI Notes when all 14 voices are being used), note attack (fade-in), note release (fade-out) and latency averages 8 ms.

The WAV Trigger supports both SDSC (up to 2GB) and SDHC (up to 32GB) type microSD cards.

Note: This product is a collaboration with Robertsonics. A portion of each sales goes back to them for product support and continued development."
