Get Audulus for: iOS | Mac | Windows/Linux

"Audulus 3 is about to get a big new update - new synthesis engine, improved UI, and hundreds of new modules. Take a tour through just one of the new patches included in the update - more to come!

To try Audulus for free, download the trial for Mac, Windows, and Linux at www.audulus.com

Follow Audulus on Twitter and Instagram @audulus.

This patch is available for free download at the Audulus forum:
http://forum.audulus.com/discussion/1...

Description from the forum:

This sequencer uses 0-1 LFOs instead of clocks to drive the sequence step selection. If you use a saw wave input for both sequences, the X sequence is read left to right, top to bottom, and the Y sequence is read top to bottom, left to right. To reverse direction, simply use a reverse saw wave, or even a triangle or sine - or rectified audio! Anything really.

A third sequence is created when X and Y intersect - this is the = output.

The field of values are all scaled 0-1. Best results are obtained when you feed back sequences to the steps themselves.

The two controls next to the visualizer are max step controls. The one next to these towards the middle turns the sequences on an off in various combinations.

That's it! It's actually rather simple - its simplicity and openness allows you to do so much with it. Pairs very well with the new envelope module that will on retrigger when it's gone through its full cycle (see either of the demos attached here)."

"Moog System-55 Fully Analog Modular Synthesizer. Unique opportunity to own a true investment piece, which will only appreciate in time. 100% authentic Moog, hand wired, stuffed, and soldered right here in the USA. Manufacturing of this unit began in 2015 but was not completed and delivered to me until May 2016, serial #39 of 55. THIS UNIT IS REGISTERED WITH MOOG AND IS STILL UNDER WARRANTY. So, why buy mine when ( at the time of this ad) there is one remaining System-55 to be built at Moog? I am throwing in $1,600 worth of goodies that do not come with their standard system: 953 controller, solid walnut keyboard garage ( of which the modular also sits atop) that matches the system perfectly. An extra single-slot passive module, and a foot-switch. The last 55 from Moog could take a year, ( I waited 9 months for mine) this one is available now, and I don't charge tax, which is a lot on $35K. Shipping and insurance is no joke on this thing, I highly recommend local pick up, besides you can check everything out to be 100% sure of your purchase. I have the original shipping crate and boxes, patch cords, and paper work. Why am I selling? I have 2 giant modulars, and I need main far-field monitors more than I need two modulars- its that simple."

"Roland originally manufactured the Jupiter-6 with an axial RAM battery soldered directly to the printed circuit board. I recently replaced the battery and installed a Philmore BH542 1/2AA battery holder (see photos) to accommodate the replacement battery so the next owner won't need to do any soldering when the battery fails in the years to come. Operationally, the synthesizer is perfect - 100% functional in every way. The original Roland factory presets have been restored, and the original manual is included..."

Akai APC Mini Live Jam - Yamaha Montage, DSI/Oberheim OB-6, Ableton Live 9

Published on Aug 27, 2016 Earmonkey Music

"I'm a fan of the live jam. This is fairly simple one. Just an example of how I do it in Ableton Live, with an Akai APC Mini control pad. Here's what's going on:

First I record some drums. You can do this from a drum machine or anything you want. I have two tracks with drums on them in this video. The first track I played live, just a kick/snare thing. The other track I used the Yamaha Montage arpeggios which have hundreds of drum loops. They're not audio loops, they're actually arpeggios so they are played live and then looped into Ableton.

I sequenced a couple of different bass lines on the OB6 and recorded each one into a separate slot on my Bass track so when I switch between them, I get something different in each slot.

Then I just started playing live and jamming. I arm a track with the APC and at any time, hit a button in a slot to start recording at the next 1-beat. Then keep on going.

It's a very fun way to build up tracks and you can get very complex. The APC will give you access to 8-tracks and 8-slots on each track at a time. You can scroll around with the controller too so you're not just limited to those 64 slots. But I didn't do that here.

The thing I like best is that other than recording the basic drums and bass lines, I didn't even look at the computer screen. It's all live, all hardware. The computer does the recording, but you're not tied to a monitor."

Switched on Roland System 1 & Moog Voyager

"Overture - original baroque style synth composition

Not exactly what I had in mind for this youtube channel given that it took a long day's hard work and was anything but spontaneous. It's been years since I've had to bounce down to free up tracks; I think I might stick to the DAW next time I try something this complicated!

(apologies for the usual shakey video - it's sometimes a trick trying to play and keep still whilst holding a smartphone in the other hand)

Replicant - Zynaptiq Adaptiverb, Pro 2 , Roland D-50 , Moog Theremin

Published on Aug 27, 2016 100 Things I Do

"During SonicTalk last week (Sonic TALK 459 - Bionic Sustain) Ty Unwin enthused about Zynaptiq's Adaptiverb. I decided to give it a go with its 30 day free trial. The Synth noodle is based on a track I recorded many years ago. The Theremin also has some Eventide Black Hole for extra space. Basically an excuse to wash everything in way too much 'verb and be very loose with tone. I hope you enjoy.
