Roland TR-8, TB-3, TR-505, + Circuit & Volca Acid Techno Jam

Published on Sep 2, 2016 anode8

"Here's another session featuring the Roland TR-505, TR-8 & TB-3, along with the Korg Volca Bass & Keys, and Novation Circuit. This was mostly a test of the distortion pedal (Boss DS-1 Clone) on the TB-3. All run through the Mackie ProFX12 mixer and recorded into Logic Pro, with some compression and limiting added. This is by no means a full demo of any of these machines, just me fooling around on some gear that I like to have fun with. If you like it too, then please follow me! Thanks for checking it out."

Synthrotek Super Power

Published on Sep 2, 2016 synthrotek

http://www.synthrotek.com/products/mo...

"Synthrotek’s Super Power gives you loads of power and is skiffable at just 46mm deep! Designed with safety in mind, Super Power has polarity protection and regulators with short circuit, overheating, and over current protection.

Why make a totally new power module? First and foremost, the Deluxe Power Module was a tough build. DIY has always been at the heart of what we do, so we re-oriented the board so that it is simpler to build, and more importantly, simpler to troubleshoot. We also would occasionally have a metal switch break when shipping a Eurorack case, so we switched to a hardy plastic jack.

The new circuit allows Super Power to come in three different power configurations. Super Power Red (with red LEDs) will power a single row of 84 or 104HP, Super Power Green will power two rows of 104HP, and Super Power Blue will power three to four rows of 104HP.

Features:

Multiple power options to fit your needs and budget: - RED: Power one row of 84 or 104HP.* Power output: +12V @ 3A, -12V @ 2.5A, +5V @ 1.5A - GREEN: Power two rows of 104HP.* Power output: +12V @ 3A, -12V @ 1.3A, +5V @ 1.5A - BLUE: Power three to four rows of 104HP.* Power output: +12V @ 3A, -12V @ 2.5A, +5V @ 1.5A
- Advanced low-noise, fully-regulated voltage converters on each rail
- Over-current protection: shuts off each power rail automatically if modules use too much current on that rail
- Two 16-Pin Eurorack power connectors, keyed for safety
- Molex quick-release connector for easy install of Synthrotek Noise Filtering Distribution Boards
- USB jack for powering an iPhone, Beat Step Pro, etc.
- Input Voltage Range: 16 to 19 volts DC
- Requires 16-9V power brick, DC Input Jack size: 2.1mm
- Module Width: 4HP
- Module Depth: 46mm"

Corey Schenck's Memorymoog Restoration (By Synthpro)

Published on Sep 2, 2016 synthpro

"Hey Guys,

This video is of a Memorymoog I have been rebuilding for Corey Schenck, it was originally Robert Berry's Memorymoog that he toured with in the band, '3' (Emerson Berry and Palmer).

Very honored to have the privilege to get this beast up and going again for its new life with Corey.

Special thanks to both Robert and Corey for the support and to all of you that watch my videos, this is what it is all about!!!

Rock on and take care,
Jareth"

Arturia Keystep - Playing with the Step Sequencer

Published on Sep 2, 2016 ProckGnosis

"Just a bit of playing around with the step sequencer on the Arturia Keystep MIDI Controller, using it to sequence a Yamaha CS5 analog mono synth.

Really had 3 goals with this:
1. Playing with the Keystep sequencer
2. Testing the Waldorf Pulse 2 for translating MIDI to CV
3. Sequencing an old mono, analog synth that had no MIDI

The Keystep is a great piece of hardware at a decent price (around $115-120), with velocity and aftertouch sensitive keys, an arpeggiator, and a step sequencer. Can store up to eight, 64-step sequences. MIDI in/out and CV and gate outs for controlling analog equipment.

The Keystep has CV and gate out, but the Yamaha CS5 doesn't use the normal, Moogish-volt-per-octave standard, so I had to use the Waldorf Pulse 2 to translate the midi from the Keystep to the Hertz-per-volt CV standard older Yamaha synths frequently used."

"This is rack version of famous Polivox synth with Midi mod added. Item passed full repair and profilactics. old condensators were changed for new ones. Polivoks is the portable electronic musical synthesizer which is designed for playing different musical compositions of any genre. It is also intended for creating some musical effects in cinema and play scoring, in studio.

There are 4 octaves on the keyboard. The inclined desk is divided into the following functional sections: Modulator, Generator #1, Generator #2, Mixer and Amplifier. They give one a possibility to synthesize a broad spectrum of sounds and to change sounding at any time. There are 3 internal audible signal sources in the instrument: to broad-ranged of the Generators with changed form of oscillations and a noise generator for creating a non-musical sounds such as wind, surf, whine, etc. Possibility to connect an external audible signal sources to the synthesizer is provided for (e.g. guitars, electropianos and electroorgans). Sounds of different external sources are combined separatly in the mixer in any ratio. There is a filter in the synthesizer with cutoff frequency control and resonance to change colour of timbre of audilble signal over a wide range.

Engineer: Vladimir Kuzmin, designer: Olympiada Kuzmina, hardware engineer: Yuriy Pheophilov, produced by Urals Vector Company."

"This synthesizer was manufactured by Kirovsky musical instruments' factory in 1984, designer - Viktor Nikulin. The EMI Ritm 2 is an one-voice keyboard synthesizer designed for solo, ensembles and orchestral playing musical compositions of any genre. It can be used both for educational needs and creating different musical effects. This synthesizer can be used with an acoustic amplifier which has a response of 0,775. There is a possibility to use a low frequency amplifier such as radio receiver, TV and tape recorder. The quality of the sounding depends on an acoustic amplifier.

The synthesizer Ritm-2 can play soundings of the other classical instruments (keyboard, strings, reed and percussion instruments). It is intended for creating some specific sounds (wind, noise of surf, train, gun and whine). Using this instrument one can play some compositins with a random pitch and a timbre.

Control parametrs name: pitch wheel, modulation slider, modulation frequency, registers (4'8'16'32'), tuning modulation on, modulation amount, modulation waveform, noise, square waveform level, select waveform, wave level, cutoff, key track (1/1-1/2), resonance, modulation form/depth, phone, contour osc, output, memory, filter - attack, decay, sustain, release."
