::vtol:: orbitalochka from ::vtol:: on Vimeo.

"Kinetic sound object. Model of artificial satellite of the Earth / inhabited sound art space station. The apparatus is a system for a research of sound swirling of anthroposphere. The device works in autonomous and extremely abstract way. Featuring a built-in radio FM transmitter, it transmits radio signals at frequency 99mHz being available for all inhabitants of the Earth.

"The sound signals are based on the generative sound processes created with Patchblocks synthesis systems and light sensor which reacts to change in position of the satellite in space following the relocation of the mass caused by change of solar cell position. The solar cells function as sensors and provide CV (control voltage) for changing the parameters of the sound program. The station also process and transmits a pre-recorded lecture by Sergey Kasich - 'Sound art community in the context of development of modern technologies'.

hard:

- fm radio transmitter
- arduino nano
- 4 servo motors
- patchblocks sound module
- motion sensor
- 4 solar panles
- fm radio
- 1 channel sound system"

"Modifications:

10x Point Patch Bay.

Fantastic Sampler. The patch bay is bolted and re-enforced to the base of the unit to facilitate rack use.

The sample was recorded on my Juno 60 synth.. The circuit bent sounds are fairly intense, highly digital and tonally aggressive (at least in this demo).

The possibilities are endless."

"Great old sampler from the U.S... this is the Turbo model, which offers two additional stereo sub-outs, an effects stereo submix, two 24x bit stereo effects processors, and S/PDIF digital I/O.

I was able to get at least 4 minutes worth of consecutive sampling time on the internal hard drive, and used it mostly to record longer sampled passages - which I then looped, reversed (a very cool on-board feature) and offered up to the rack interface to create out of this world soundscapes.

The rack interface mod (securely bolted in place) will change the tone/composition of anything stored in the internal drive, or on disc. Everything from beautiful (fluttering delays) to brutal (heavy bit crush distortion). The best part is that no matter how mangled your original sample becomes, it will almost always return to it's original form. This means that you can really go to town and experiment.

Unique item. Comes with original manual, power and scuzz cable.
I will include 5x formatted disks for external storage, as well as 2x patch cables as pictured."
