Yamaha TX81Z and Eventide Space - demo

Published on Feb 14, 2017 MIDERA

"Okay, not much here - but testing out my TX81Z with the free version of Patch Base on iPad. I created this patch using the only options available to me on the demo version of the software (which means only the first two operators).

MIDI controller is the Radikal Technologies Accelerator. Eventide Space was also used for reverb."

Synthrotek RND Eurorack Module - Full Demo CV Random & CV Clock

Published on Feb 14, 2017 synthrotek

Introducing the Synthrotek RND! It's like a math.random() function for modular gear!

This handy module is a feature rich random voltage generator that is shallow and super powerful. It outputs random voltages (similar to a sample and hold) in time with either its internal clock, or with an external clock you can patch in. An external clock will bypass the internal clock, and the CV jack over the clock, so your random voltages will always be in sync with whatever you patch in. With CV control over both the clock speed and the range of your output voltage, you could create anything from a wildly fluctuating blur of notes all the way to a slow, lilting tune. The RND can also be used as a clock source with it's clock out jack.

*Note: due to the voltage drop of the LED in the slide pots, the Range LED wont light up unless the output voltage is above 2v.

Features:

Clock Speeds:
Slow: 0.5Hz to 10Hz
Medium: 2Hz to 40Hz
Fast: 16Hz to 320Hz
Linear CV Control over clock speed and range.
Over and Under voltage protection.
CV inputs take 0 to +5v.
Output voltages range from 0v to +5v.
4HP
Depth: 40.3mm (1.58in).
Current Draw:
16mA @ +12v
0mA @ -12v
0mA @ +5v"

New 2017 Optigan Disc - DARKSOPHONE - Feat. Pall Jenkins

Published on Feb 14, 2017 optigandotcom

via optigan.com

"We have a new Optigan disc! From indie rock veteran Pall Jenkins (The Black Heart Procession, Three Mile Pilot) come the haunting sounds of DARKSOPHONE, featuring musical saw, Marxophone, skeletal guitar and heavy drums. Since the saw and Marxophone both have limited ranges, we’ve split the keyboard, placing the saw on the lower half and the Marxophone on the upper half. For those unfamiliar with the Marxophone, it’s a zither-like instrument that is played with a series of keys, which bounce metal hammers onto the strings for a repeated dulcimer effect. The musical saw is played with a bow, and each note has an organic vibrato and other articulations. The sparse guitar chords lend themselves to combining chord buttons for extended harmonies. The drums feature patterns in both 6/8 and 4/4. Trying slowing the disc all the way down and/or playing it backwards with the reverb cranked up for some spooky late-night shoe-gazing!"

VSL Modular Jam 20170212

Published on Feb 14, 2017 Vintage SynthLab

"Eurorack modular jam running two VCF-74 filters (based on the 1970s mini-korg filter circuit). One is being modulated from LFOs synced to a clock divider (driven by the Beatstep Pro clock output) and the other VCF-74 has white noise through it, with its LP cutoff modulated by each snare trigger via a S&H (random step generator)."
