"This is the highly sought after 8mb version. The machine boots w/o issues every time while the hard drive and floppy carry out read and write functions reliably. Overall this synth has been well cared for and is in pristine condition inside and out. All sliders, buttons, and jacks have been thoroughly tested and work great as well as keys trigger perfectly with nice action. This synth has some special history because it came from Flyte Tyme Studios where it was used by some of the greatest musicians of all time. It comes with a large collection of sample disks that came along with it and many of my favorites have been loaded to the hard drive so you can start exploring for hours without any down time. The Floppy drive was recently replaced with a high quality Teak drive and the 40MB hard drive was formatted and then loaded full with samples. The cooling fans are strong and the machine operates at proper temps and the power supply was recently calibrated testing good supplying stable power to the synth. Also included with the sale are a spare oled display, the power cord, and a pack of 50 Sony blank disks. Here's your chance to own a legend in near mint and reliable operating condition..."

"Used it to sequence drum modules and it was fun to be able to visualize your beats and easily edit multiple tracks at once on the fly. It's an eight track sequencer using midi and CV so you can control a variety of old and new gear simultaneously. Doepfer calls for a 9-12v/500ma adapter in the service notes and a robust 12v/500ma adapter will be included. The wooden rack that it's mounted to in the pictures is not included."

"You can hear the ST20 on this track

(the last song I used the instrument on)

SUIKO ST20 is extremely rare and most strange japanese electronic musical instruments originally made for japanese traditinal music circa. 1980. and this one is very rare version of SUIKO ST20 with recording function it's built in cool brown custom suitcase like EMS synth, one side of the suitcase is a speaker so you can play without external amp or mixer but don't worry it has audio output too. keyboard itself is built in beautiful brown metal plate, look cool!

these keyboards were very expensive and made very limited quantities those days so i'ts very hard to find even in Japan nowadays... this is your first and last chance to get this vintage gem!

it has 2 rows of button keyboard this keyboard specially designed for playing glissando easily like koto(japanese harp) front row of the keyboard is japanese scale,so just playing randomly you can easily get exotic japanese melody!

there are various switch and dial for special japanese tuning and sustain and octave switch three sounds are selectable, shyakuhachi(japanese bamboo flute),koto(japanese harp) and pipe organ sounds are very analog, warm and strange!"

Granular Synthesis Defined on Soundfly

For those interested, Soundfly has a post up explaining granular synthesis here. Click through for the full post and be sure to check out their other tutorials.

"When it comes to sampling and Ableton, there are an overwhelming number of methods for turning almost any recorded sound into a functional musical tabula rasa. From simply dragging and dropping a recording into a track and splicing manually, to warping, distorting, reversing, transposing, and making use of plugin-based tricks of processing, one can explore the parameters of a single piece of audio for months at a time. A slightly lesser known, yet highly rewarding method to add to the bevy of sampling workflows in your tracks is granular synthesis."
