Moog Mother 32 Unboxing and Demo

Published on Feb 26, 2017 Caalamus

"Unboxing & getting acquainted with my new Moog Mother 32! Deconstructing my first Patch... I recorded this like mid December of 2016 & I edited the video shortly thereafter. But it just felt like it was lacking something.

Maybe two weeks ago, I got the idea to record some more footage/audio of me Tuning up another Patch, a Lead ...& noodling over the existing Patch. Then, of course once I got started, I got carried away & wound up creating Animations & everything else :P

So here it is! My Moog Mother 32 Video. Hope you dig it! Let me know what you think... good or bad. All info is valuable :]

Thanks for tuning in!

"Upgraded to the maximum amount of RAM. (4 megabytes / 90 seconds mono.)
Stereo sampling. 24 voices polyphony.

Great cosmetic condition. Super clean.
All keys, buttons and outputs / inputs work.
Floppy drive works perfectly.
Screen has dimmed but is still completely readable.
"Turntable" wheel functions 100% normally.

Only minor issue is alpha dial can skip values if moved quickly.
Works normally if you go slow."

"This unit is in great shape cosmetically, looks very clean. It also just got back from servicing. Apparently previous owner had tried some DIY repairs and done a poor job of it, and it came to me needing work. I sent it to a professional tech that completed servicing it did a nice job cleaning the internals, securing all the boards in place, replacing necessary capacitors, rebuilding the keyboard (plays very nice), servicing the sliders (they all move smoothly). Two of the sliders were replaced with the newer LED lit sliders.

It's 98% functional at this point, all the features working as they should. The only issue is the tracking on the oscillators. If they are tuned together while playing a single note, they will get out of tune with each other the further up or down the keyboard you move away from the starting tuning note. After about an octave is becomes somewhat noticeable and at 2 octaves there is definite detuning sound. This is the last step the tech did not have time to troubleshoot. Otherwise it is working great.

I believe this to be a MkI internally but with the black/gold case and a knob style tuning section (unlike the push pads on MkIIs and MkIII). So probably a late MkI during a transition period between Mk1 and Mk2. It has the Arp 4023 filter. The serial plate/number is missing (and oddly there is a 3260 model serial number on this but it is not related to Odyssey model number)" SN 0168

L-1 Quad VC Resonant Equalizer

Published on Mar 7, 2017 Perfect Circuit Audio

"The Quad VC Resonant Equalizer from L-1 is a 4CH parametric EQ with full voltage control over each parameter. It can be used as a single quad EQ or as four independent filters. Each channel is complete with resonance switches as well as bandwidth controls. Channels 1 and 4 can be switched from Bandpass filters to Lowpass and Highpass, to provide a full spectrum EQ.

In this patch the output of the Mannequins Just Friends is filtered by the L-1 VC EQ. Each of the 4 bands from the VC EQ is mixed by the Verbos Scan and Pan, which is controlled by envelope generators Triggered by the Malekko Varigate 8+.

Sequential Prophet VS Synthesizer - eDrumming with Bidule

Published on Mar 7, 2017 BecauseDrumGeek

This is the legendary Sequential Circuits Prophet VS Digital Vector Synthesizer from 1986! added to an e-drum-setup.

This video is meant to show you that it is possible to integrate melody play from a hardware synth (or of course any soft-synth) into your e-drumming by playing only 1 zone (e.g. the bow of a cymbal pad) for each programmed cycle of notes/accords (no matter how many notes in one cycle!...).

A second melody is triggered by a second zone (e.g. the edge of a cymbal pad). It doesn't matter where you have stopped: hiitting the other zone will always launch the first note of the other cycle.

A third zone is meant to stop and reset it all.

Forget about using samples in a sampler tool. Triggering a synthesizer directly is so much more comfortable!!!

And please don't think that it is easy to handle a synth with drum pads: every new hit has to replace the note before...

So you'll need a wizard:
Plogue's Bidule makes it possible!!!
