"Echo" with Roland Jupiter 8, Jupiter 6, Juno 60, Juno 106, and MSQ-700

Published on Oct 17, 2017 Machiwoomiapoo

"'Echo' with Roland Jupiter 8, Jupiter 6, Juno 60, Juno 106, and MSQ-700

I was playing with the Jupiter 6 and the TC Electronics Flashback pedal on the Ping setting and I discovered this rhythmic idea. Then I added the Juno 60 with an arp style patch which was plugged into the TC Electronics Alter Ego x4 on the Copycat setting (later the Rev setting) and then plugged into the TC Electronics T2 pedal on the VII setting. Next I used the Juno 106 with some serious release going through the vintage Roland DEP-5 on setting 31 for a little Echo effect. Finally, I plugged the Jupiter 8 through the Eventide Timefactor on the "Lost" setting and the Eventide Space on the "Blackhole" setting. I used the Juno 106 and Jupiter 8 for the solos. I wanted to experiment with the "Echo" settings on the pedals. What do you think? Thanks for watching! Please subscribe, share, leave feedback, and let me know about your music as well! I enjoy listening to everybody else's music on YouTube too. Keep up the great work. You are all very inspirational. Take care, Sam."

New Divide & Conquer & Sly Grogan from nonlinearcircuits

divide & conquer plus a sly grogan Published on Oct 17, 2017 cirtcele

"Just a patch based around the Divide & Conquer, the Sly Grogan is fairly evident as well."

Divide & Conquer via nonlinearcircuits

"This module is intended to be a companion module for the Bindubba Sequencer."

SLY GROGAN via nonlinearcircuits

"SLY GROGAN is an envelope generator based on the design in Electronotes #86. It can produce a wide variety of different envelopes and bursts, perhaps most interesting is the ability to have the envelopes ringing after the attack stage. It also works well as a voltage controlled LFO, tho the module is neither a LFO nor a regular ADSR.
Please note: it no longer contains a VCA, this was dropped in favour of tapping the extra outputs (2&3)."

Percussa SSP GUI Layout #2 - Kickstarter update

Published on Oct 17, 2017 PERCUSSA

"Short video while testing the GUI code for the Percussa SSP on the computer (no sound). To change the parameter values we use the Percussa Remote control surface which is connected through USB to the computer."

https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/percussa

Update via the kickstarter:

"Last week I finished updating my mechanical design and took the changes I made back into my PCB Layout software. I then updated the position of the components in the PCB layout. I managed to include a second USB host port on the SSP and made some room by rotating them 90 degrees. I also decided to move the SD card slot closer to the CPU module to facilitate the routing and shorten the distance the SD card traces have to travel (which is good for reliability).

I'm now busy updating the layout, re-routing traces, moving a few of the power supplies on the board, updating component values, etc. When I'm done with this second pass of the layout and it all looks good I'll be going through my (long) todo / checklist to see what else needs to be done or checked. If nothing major needs to be done in the layout I'll be running the DRCs (design rule checks) in my software, correcting any errors that come up, running the design by our manufacturer and preparing board files for production so we can get prototypes built. I hope to be done with the layout in 1-2 weeks. I’ve also sent over the mechanical drawings of the front panels to our CNC subcontractor to discuss the production of prototypes.

Past week, Celine continued the GUI code design work for the SSP, and made the following updates:

1) button layout at the right-hand side of the screen.

2) parameter values of the LFO and Envelope Generator module are now plotted on vertical graphs.

3) the vertical graph is also shown next to the text in large font when turning one of the encoders.

4) layout and position of the ADSR envelope

Below you can see a short video while she’s testing the GUI code on her computer (no sound). To change the parameter values she uses the Percussa Remote control surface which is connected through USB to her computer.

Thanks again for your support and until next update!

WMD Chimera Metallic Percussion Synthesizer Module

Published on Oct 17, 2017 Perfect Circuit Audio

"This video shows the WMD Chimera Eurorack module being used for high hats, atmospheric percussion and a few other sounds.

Chimera, from WMD, is a metallic percussion synthesizer based around sampling and granular processing. It is based on sampling sounds such as sleigh bells, tambourines, drill bits, shell casing, chains, coins, and damaged eurorack panels.

Center Square Music Stereo CEM Filter Rack Modules Featuring Dual Curtis VCF CEM3328

via this auction

"These are single rack space modules consisting of a pair of 24db/oct low pass filters using Curtis CEM3328 synth filter chips. These are great sounding, musical filters with the special feature of consistent volume across resonance settings.

These modules have balanced/unbalanced inputs and unbalanced outputs. There are CV inputs for frequency and resonance on each channel, and a stereo link switch to have the knob settings from channel one operate channel 2 (the CV freq. input also carries over, but the res. CV control jack does not so you need to use a multiple if you want identical CV on the resonance input).

High-quality parts used through-out (Nichicon and Nippon caps, etc). These are professionally designed, assembled, and wired. Uses quality double-sided pcb's.

The only thing I would say is not professional quality are the control decals. I used water-slide decals so they will last and have a low profile, but they don't look nearly as good as proper screen printing or engraving methods in my opinion."

Minimoog, Moog 1125, Bode, and MF104M delay #2... upside down..!

"Moog Prodigy analog synthesizer. It is the rarer version with all of the CV inputs for controlling its parameters eternally from modular synths or pedals. This thing sounds phenomenal and works perfectly apart from 2 keys refiring envelopes occasionally, but this is a quick fix that generally just requires cleaning the key contacts (tutorials can be found online, otherwise a repair guy can do it in an hour or less.)

Nothing has a SYNC sound like the prodigy. It is so gnarly, something that totally sets it apart from others like the minimoog."
