Elektron Analog Four MKII With A Tiny Modular Synth

Published on Feb 22, 2018 Perfect Circuit Audio

"This video shows how an Elektron Analog Four MKII can be used with a eurorack modular synthesizer. The Analog Four can output 4 CV signals for triggering and controlling sounds from the modular and the modular can be plugged into the Analog Four to be mixed with the other voices and be run through the effects. The Analog Four is triggering a Noise Engineering Basimilus Iteritas Alter, WMD Chimera and Make Noise synth made with STO, Function and LxD.

0-Coast Ambient: flickering lens distorts

Published on Feb 22, 2018 C Nich0lls

"shards of light, shadows of sadness

Analogue improvisation with Makenoise 0-Coast, Korg SQ-1, Strymon BigSky, Red Panda bitmap

Theme is a single take recording, no editing. 2 background elements were added post recording: high-pitched ‘chirps’ and a low ‘heartbeat’. Both elements derived from the original patch. The ‘heartbeat’ is self-patched.

SQ-1 has a series of pitches programmed across all 16 steps. Most pitches span more than one step and this interacts with the cycling Slope generator and Contour with variable decay on the 0-Coast to create the variety of note durations.

Makenoise 0-Coast

Patch is derived from 0-Coast:Timbre Space 01. Analogue distortion pedal changed for Red Panda bitmap, digital distortion

Square Wave to Balance In
Random out to Volt Math in
Volt math mult out to Slope Time in Contour Decay in
Slope set to Cycle
Contour out to Balance control in

Volt-math pot adjusted throughout the performance

"Nothing groundbreaking, just a simple acid track….. but all the sounds were made using just a TB-303 as a sound source, by sampling into an MPC and truncating, filtering and layering. Even the hihats and metal sounds :)"
