One Morning with a Moog Mother-32

Published on Feb 17, 2018 Anodyne Institute

"Here is a comfy session of sound design with the Moog Mother-32 from my bed in the Geodesic Dorm. Recording commenced at 6:38am and ceased at 7:57am. The footage is presented chronologically. We try to 'show our work' whenever possible in this compilation, so you can see how one patch or sequence mutates into the next strange set of sounds. A Zoom MS-70CDR multi-effect pedal provides analog-style delay and lo-fi reverb.

The Anodyne Institute is a fictional place. We would like to make all of the sounds."

Pseudo-generative Sunrise with the Moog Mother-32

Published on Jan 31, 2018
Here is a pleasant little nothing, captured during #jamuary2018. This is the Moog Mother-32 semi-modular synthesizer and a Zoom MS-70CDR effects pedal providing delay.

The things that make it nice: A wandering sequence recorded into the Mother via keyboard. The stepped random voltage from the Assign output controls Tempo, so that each step in the sequence is a random length. These two combined feel like a hand-cranked music box.

Envelope and Keyboard voltages are blended together in the Voltage Controlled Mixer and then sent to the filter. This provides a blend between soft and hard, bright shapes.

Pulse waveform with slow pulse-width modulation suggests a future that did not happen.

The delay has a high feedback amount, creating a bed of prairie grass for the sounds to rest upon."

Jam with Moog Mother 32 & Elektron Analog Rytm & Heat

Published on Feb 22, 2018 Victor Roy

"Jam session over a simple sequence on the two Moog Mother 32. Gate out of one of the Mothers is modulating the other one's VCF cut-off. The Digitakt is just used to start the built-in sequences of the Moog Mothers 32 & tempo sync the Elektron Analog Rytm. The envelop follower of the Elektron Analog Heat is on modulating the low pass filter and slighty driving the Elektron Analog Rytm (Classic Dist engine). Added Valhalla Shimmer Reverb to the Mothers. No EQ or mastering applied."

Moog Mother 32 - Cinematic Landscapes

Published on Feb 18, 2018 Victor Roy

"Live performance with 2x Moog Mother-32 heavily processed by the fantastic Valhalla Shimmer Reverb (VST via Propellerhead Reason). The Digitakt is controlling the Valhalla Reverb parameters in real time.

Second part contains a beat base which is just a repetitive tom on the Elektron Analog Rytm processed by the the Analog Heat (envelop follower on)

IMPORTANT: Note that there may be some loud / bassy passages.

Modular - A More Melodic Sputnik

Published on Feb 23, 2018 Mike Thomas

"A slight departure from the drone/noise/atonal pieces I've been creating with this setup. This piece has a combination of sequenced (but randomly-arranged) and generative melodies. Managed to eke out a little rhythmic cymbal thing, too.

I know my last few vids have been super low-tech video-wise, but sometimes I just want to capture something and move on. Hopefully these vids are still of interest :-)"
