Dsi Pro-2 See you Bassline step by step

Published on Mar 30, 2018 Gonzalo PĂ©rez F.

"For best results, listen to this video on headphones and try to follow the sound, the values can be variable among different synthesizers, but the key is the same.
You can sculpt the sound with an equalizer and other effects.
I just wanted to use the synthesizer´s capabilities.
Enjoy making sounds and tweaking knobs!

Kick drum & Noise made with DSI Pro-2
Snare made with Battery
Choir sound made with Waldorf Blofeld.
Sequenced into Pro-tools."

Erica Synths Acidbox III Stereo Polivoks Filter

Published on Mar 30, 2018 Perfect Circuit Audio

"Erica Synths Acidbox III is a stereo Polivoks Filter in a box with both bandpass and lowpass modes and CV control over filter cutoff. There is a tap tempo LFO with multiple clock divisions and waveshapes as well as an envelope follower. The input level can be adjusted for overdriving the filter and the cutoff knob is huge for having fun with filter sweeps. In this video a Plankton Ants sequenced by a Korg SQ-1 is the input to the Acidbox.

"The Micromoog was designed by Robert Moog and Jim Scott as a scaled-down, cheaper alternative ($650-$800 market price) to the Minimoog. It was designed to tap into a market of musicians who wanted an introduction to synthesis, but could not afford the $1,500 Minimoog. It thus is extremely basic in design. It is a monophonic synthesizer, featuring 1 variable waveshape voltage-controlled oscillator. It has a -24 dB per octave low-pass filter with envelope generator, a voltage-controlled amplifier, noise generator, sample and hold circuit, low-frequency oscillator, and modulation routing. It has a 32-note keyboard and was one of the first synthesizers to include a built-in ribbon controller, in this instance for pitch bending. The Micromoog has an audio input allowing external audio to be run through the filter and VCA. It also features the Moog Open System control inputs, a pre-MIDI control system which enabled the unit to be controlled by other Moog synthesizers."

X1L3 - PERSUADATRON - FM radio eurorack module

Published on Mar 30, 2018 manufacturedZ3R0

"A simple demo following a dark power electronics theme. Using persuadatron to listen to a brain dead local radio station and pass it through clouds to generate the incidentals and background scene of the track.

Basically it's an FM radio with digtal controls. You can manually adjust the volume, station and mute it or you can trigger these with the gate inputs. It has an auto scan function which will scan it's entire frequency range and save all the stations it finds. Or if you prefer you can scan for them yourself.

The track is nothing more than the radio station fed into clouds and then manually manipulated with that modules controls. Made as an example of how cool a radio is for raw material more than anything else. The whole abysmal advertising breaks and template pop music package gets the treatment to awesome effect here. Backed by a drone and some strings."

Synth Spotting and an Interview with Mike Kiraly

You might recognize Mike Kiraly's name from numerous posts here on MATRIXSYNTH. He is the man behind the demo videos from synth and modular shop CONTROL in New York. If you are curious about his studio and his gear, you can find an interview with him on Attack Magazine here. It's a quick read and the interview is structured by the gear.

Pictured here are his eurorack modular system, one wall of synths, and a close-up of the Modal Electronics 001 keyboard synthesizer.
