Corsynth C110 2044 VCF

This one in via Soviet Space Child.

"The C110 2044 VCF is a four pole low pass filter based in the classic filter SSM2044. This filter chip is responsible for the sound of some well known polysynths from the 80s like the Korg Mono / Poly , Korg Polysix , Korg Trident, PPG Wave 2.2 and 2.3 ,EMU Emulator I, Kawai K3, Sx-240 , Siel Opera 6 ….

The C110 is designed using the new reissued SSI2144 IC. It is an updated version of the original SSM2044 with lower noise, better control feedthrough but preserving all the sonic characteristics of the original design.

Like many filters the SSM2044 suffer from gain loss when the resonance is increased , the C110 includes an especially designed circuit co correct that. This circuit can be activated or deactivated on the front panel allowing the user to select between the traditional response and the gain compensated response.

The C110 has temperature compensated voltage control and it will oscillate at high resonances. It can be used as an oscillator over 3-4 octaves.

The C110 main characteristics are :

Four pole response ( 24db/octave )
Gain compensation circuit
Three modulation inputs one with an attenuverter
Voltage controlled resonance
Temperature compensated
One audio input
The FM2 input has a 0,66 V/Octave response expanding the modulation range to 7,5 octaves using the typical 5V envelope.

The C110 2044 VCF is built using high quality electronic components, Switchcraft jacks, Cosmo knobs (the same used by Moog Modular) , anodized aluminum front panel…."

The Dreadbox Tour and Interview

Published on Sep 2, 2018 ProckGnosis

"Dropped by the Dreadbox Workshop a couple months ago, and Yannis and Dimitra were nice enough to play host and let us bug them and talk about making synths, including the new Erebus v3 and the Medusa. First part of the video is the tour through the shop and the second part is the interview with Yannis and Dimitra.

01:32 - Shop Tour
09:20 - A Little Dreadbox History
10:20 - Interview (with Yannis and Dimitra)

Hadn't intended on doing something this big, and initially it was only supposed to be an interview (and a shorter one at that). Once we got into it though, we were having fun and just went with it, deciding to do the tour as well.

As a side note, all the synth sounds in the video come from the Dreadbox/Polyend Medusa, which I have to say is WAY cool!"

"All original near mint condition Moog synth with Moog carrying case.

This synth is in top working condition and beautiful cosmetic condition. A well preserved specimen that would make a fine edition to your studio and or vintage synth collection."

New ELKA Synthex Coming from Black Corporation - Meet the Xerxes 8 Voice Synthesizer

Just the image for now. Click on it to check out the front panel in more detail. It clearly takes after the ELKA Synthex.

Black corporation of course brought us Deckards Dream, based on the Yamaha CS80, and Kijimi, a poly based on the RSF Kobol.

Black Corporation is run by Roman Filippov, the man behind the original 208r Buchla Music Easel clone. Some consider it closer to the original than the BEMI re-issue.

Xerxes is a suitable name considering the Elka Synthex is considered a king among synths. via Wikipedia:

"Xerxes I (/ˈzɜːrksiːz/; Old Persian: 𐎧𐏁𐎹𐎠𐎼𐏁𐎠 Xšayaṛša (About this sound Khshāyarsha (help·info)) [4] "ruling over heroes",[5] Greek Ξέρξης Xérxēs [ksérksɛːs]; 519–465 BC), called Xerxes the Great, was the fourth king of kings of the Achaemenid dynasty of Persia. Like his predecessor Darius I, he ruled the empire at its territorial apex. He ruled from 486 BC until his assassination in 465 BC at the hands of Artabanus, the commander of the royal bodyguard."

Update: added an image of the original Elka Synthex from this post, where you can find more pics.
