Florescent Dream // Novation Peak + Elektron Digitone

Published on Oct 21, 2018 r beny

"A dream of blooms. Live and extended version of the track Florescent Dream from my new album Eistla. Available at rbeny.bandcamp.com if that's yr jam.

Arturia Keystep playing Novation Peak arp and Elektron Digitone pads through Boss DD-500.

The album version is 3 different Peak patches recorded to cassette and a field recording chopped up by the Make Noise Morphagene. This version features the main arp patch on the Peak, and a variation of one of the other Peak patches recreated on the Digitone. There is also a new Digitone part added to add some low end.

DD-500 is used to create feedback textures. It is seriously a beautiful pedal (it reminds me of the Analog Heat, in that there are several algorithms to choose from, but there are a lot of options to customize the patch within each algorithm. Except the 500 goes way way way deeper than the Heat). For this video I am running everything through 2 custom patches in parallel."

"Korg’s masterpeice and flagship model the more lush and rare KorgTrident MK1. This outstanding synthesizer received a complete overhaul and refurbishment. It was fully serviced and calibrated by an amazing tech in Austin, TX. Power supply re-built (this is the US voltage version), capacitors, diodes, etc... replaced at spec where needed. All keys, contacts, switches, inputs, outputs and knobs meticulously cleaned. New battery installed (this did not have any battery leak). Everything is working beautifully. It’s sounds can’t be compared to any other synth. It exudes pure analog heaven!"

Roland JV80 Custom 80's Sounds

Published on Oct 21, 2018 synthartist69

"In this video I am playing the Roland JV80. I actually bought this synthesizer brand new in 1992 when it first came out. Amazingly, after playing probably at least 500 gigs or more, it still looks brand new. What sold me on it was the acoustic guitar patches and it had a very good piano for that time period. It was my go to synth then and still is today during live shows. I had to learn to program it because I played a lot of 80's music back then and this was basically all I had. It was tough to create 80's patches with this keyboard. The factory synthbrass sounds were awful!! But somehow, I managed to create a really good Van Halen synth patch and used it for a ton of songs we did back then. I also have the big brother.. Roland JV1000... two synths that I will likely never part with."

The Folktek Collection vol. 2 - instruments for Kontakt

"Download Vol. 2 via folktek.com: http://folktek.com/digital/folktek-co...

Years after the release of the Folktek Collection, we've finally put our all into making a new, sizable collection of instruments designed for Kontakt. Recorded and designed by Big Pauper with Arius Blaze in the depths of the impossible box (the studio of Arius Blaze), this collection features new Folktek works as well as old. With Folktek's venture into the eurorack realm we were capable of exploring a new range of possibilities - Sending anything and everything through all the pathways we've had at our fingertips. Then we took our recordings and cut records in house or our record lathe, or recorded to tape to add layers of delicious, unique lo-fi character.

This collection goes in a new direction with a focus of creating deep, rich, layered atmospherics. A blend of High fidelity richness with layers of lofi crafted using dubplates and tape, all easily mixed and blended as you like within Kontakt. We've also added visual elements to the instruments, featuring custom the animations of BPMC.."

Sacred Synthesis Improvisations 86 & 87 for Prophet '08 & Poly Evolver Keyboard

Improvisation #87 for Prophet '08 Published on Oct 20, 2018 Sacred Synthesis

"This is a second piece based on the same ideas as #86 below, only using an analog string patch, rather than a digital pad. All the music was played on a single Prophet '08 Keyboard, supplemented by a P'08 Module. The bass was produced on a second P'08 Module. So, 100% Prophet '08!

Instrumentation:
DSI Prophet '08 Keyboard
DSI Prophet '08 Module

Bass:
Hammond XPK 200L Pedalboard
DSI Prophet '08 Module

Effects:
Lexicon MX300 for reverb

Performed live and recorded directly to a Tascam CD-RW900 Mk II.

Improvisation #86 for Poly Evolver Keyboard

Published on Oct 20, 2018 Sacred Synthesis

"For the a particular project, I was asked to create several segments of music, including three approximately ten-minute soft, dark, and somber pieces. This improvisation is the first - a sort of warm-up - and the others will follow, using the same theme and others as well.

Because the patch is dull and slightly caustic, it sounds overly "boomy" when played through mediocre computer speakers. It does sound much cleaner through head phones or decent stereo speakers. Otherwise, it may sound best at a lower volume.

The single patch used in this piece came from the eight-voice Poly Evolver. It was played entirely on the one keyboard; no pedalboard was used for the bass.

Instrumentation:
DSI Poly Evolver Keyboard
DSI Poly Evolver Rack

Effects:
Lexicon MX300 for reverb

Performed live and recorded directly to a Tascam CD-RW900 Mk II.
