Wicks Looper for iOS

Wick Looper has been ported to iOS. You can find it on iTune here. See the Wicks labels for previous posts featuring demos of the hardware version.

"The Wicks Looper is a small handmade experimental electronic musical instrument that allows you the create real-time synth loops and sound effects. This iOS version of the looper is a reproduction and functions as close as possible to the original.

The wicks looper has 3 main controls;
The sound control:
This control adjusts the frequency of the tone in the first half of the dial and the level of noise in the second half of the dial, giving two distinct sounds.

The tempo control:
The second control is Tempo, which controls how fast the loop is played. Write the loop at a slow tempo then speed it up for a great effect

The write control:
The third control is the write button, when pressed it writes a sound to memory which is then replayed next time the loop is run. With the sound control knob adjusted anticlockwise, you can add a rest to the loop by pressing the Write button."

Published on Nov 17, 2018 Tim Shoebridge

"With this video I basically share my initial thoughts on the all new Dreadbox Erebus 3 and also walk through its basic functions. There is a lot to cover so this video is split into two parts, this is Part 1 with Part 2 to follow very soon."

"She said she had a headache. So my first thought was some lovely bassoon music from the esq (Esquire I like to call him). She threw her sudoku book at me. Next I tried the 'laughing' patch because it's supposed to be the best medicine. She threw the remote at me. So I figured she wanted to rock and i fired up the minim2 sound and gave it some 'jump' cause, might as well. Now I'm selling because someone's phone broke on my head."

"I recently discovered this sound set, it is really unique for DX7 sounds, High Class!

Makes the DX7 sound like a D50, really pushes the sound possibilities of the DX7.

I have lots of DX7 sound banks and I was really pleased when I found these two banks."

Vectrex vector CRT vs modular synth

Published on Nov 17, 2018 Jason Hotchkiss

"Playing with a vector CRT from a Vectrex game console using eurorack synth modules to drive the X/Y/Z lines. This just blows me away - I could keep staring at this all night!

Just a random first time jam with it so not much thought went into patching but used Befaco and Roland VCOs, Intellij uFold wave shaper, Hexinverter mutant bassdrum triggered by Music thing Turing machine, MN Maths as LFO, Befaco A*B+C/Crush Delay, Mcop 4x4 matrix mixer.

I totally credit Andrew Duff for getting me on to this - you should check out his Vectrex video synth set if you ever get a chance. It blows my random muck about right away!"
