OP-Z (week 1)

Published on Dec 7, 2018 Benjamin Kinsman

"Picked up an OP-Z last week, wow what a game changer.
The sequencing on it so powerful and the UI is just amazing. TE have hit it out of the park big time.
Loaded it up with most of my fave samples from the OP-1and it just feels like home, can't wait to get it cranking with the Digitakt and his slightly larger brother (OP-1).
(FYI The silent button pressing at the start is arranging the patterns for playback)"

Modal Skulpt 4 Voice 32 Oscillator Synth

Published on Dec 7, 2018 Perfect Circuit

"Modal Electronic's Skulpt synthesizer is an affordable four voice synthesizer with 8 oscillators per voice. Since the Skulpt has so many oscillators it can produce huge unison sounds or full chords on a single voice. There are midi and sync in and out connections for connecting your Skulpt to other gear, like we did in this video with the Teenage Engineering PO-32 Tonic Pocket Operator.

Skulpt available here: https://www.perfectcircuit.com/modal-..."

"Eight voice polyphonic analog synthesizer with 2 VCOs and 1 Suboscillator per voice. There are 2 analog VCFs to choose from, a Moog style Lowpass, and a Oberheim Multimode with Lowpass, Bandpass, Highpass, and Bandreject (Notch). Rounding out the modulation with 2 LFOs, 3 Envelope Generators, and an Arpeggiator.

On the outputs, the Omega 8 can be mono, stereo, or each voice (multi-timbral) can have its own output"

"Using the Minimoog as a point of inspiration, Studio Electronics took it further, by adding 2 more Envelope Generators and 3 LFOs (no more having to sacrifice VCO 3), MIDI, and patch memory. On top of the Moog style Lowpass filter, there is also and option for Oberheim style 12db Lowpass and Bandpass filters."

"The JD990 is essentially a rack mount version of the giant spaceship, the JD800. While it doesn't have the same hands-on control, the large screen make editing fairly easy and straight forward. Having the ability to send audio out of the 4 stereo pairs makes multi track recording a breeze!"
