Korg PS-3100 Polyphonic Synthesizer

"This ultra-rare Korg PS-3100 has been completely rebuilt and serviced by Ken Rich in LA. The wood case is completely rebuilt. This PS-3100 is in great condition.

The PS-3100 Analogue Synthesiser has monstrous polyphony - one built-in VCO, VCF, VCA, and EG for each of the keys on the keyboard for a total of 48 synthesizer circuits and polyphony! The PS-3100 has a rich sound despite its single VCO (triangle, saw, square waves, plus PWM) and its LPF is warmer than the MS synths. The Resonator (3 bandpass filters) can create formants and phase effects. LFO1 has a range up to 1khz, multiple wave forms, and can create FM effects using AM, which is continuously variable right up to Ring Modulation. There are 2 EGs - one polyphonically affects the VCA and LPF, the other (General Envelope Generator) is universal and paraphonic. The GEG can also be widely used as a modulation source. It has12 scaling controls for non equal-tempered intonation. There is an Ensemble for 70s style string patches and an extensive patchbay. The PS-3100 is huge, weighs 30kg and Korg made only 600."

Shipwrecks - An Ambient song with Blofeld, QY100 & Specular Tempus

Published on Dec 14, 2018 Lanthan O'Ide

"An ambient track I sequenced on my QY100, set to underwater footage recorded by the Okeanos Explorer. You can download the midi file from my website, if you like.
Enjoy! ^^
================================
Some trivia about the song:

A while ago FrankTheTank asked me in the comments if I knew any good hardware sequencer for ambient music.
Of course I responded praising the QY100, but it occurred to me that I actually haven't used it for pads, soundscapes and such yet.
Only live-recording and replaying midis.

So I made myself a little challenge:
I wanted to make an ambient song that's sequenced entirely on a QY, without a computer or other midi controllers.
Also, I only allowed myself to use patches from the Blofeld soundset I released a while ago.

And this is what I came up with.

Akai S612 - The first and best sampler Akai ever made - Demo/review/tutorial

Published on Dec 14, 2018 Espen Kraft

"When the Hi-Fi home system producer Akai entered the music tech/gear business with the Akai S612 sampler, and the Akai AX80 and AX60 back in 1985/86, no one new what to make of it. Not even Akai themselves. I don't think they knew how successfull their samplers would be in the years to come after this.
This was also the only sampler they'd ever produce that was in black.

The 612, in essence 6 delay lines with sampling functions, was streamlined the year later with the grey S700.
Both have a analog filter, non resonant, but where the S700 is a menu driven sampler, the S612 uses knobs and faders for adjusting parameters and that is very, fast, intiutive and simple. No Akai sampler for many years after the S612 did this.

Unfortunately it does not comply to the "standard" Midi Sample Dump protocol so with a fawlty Quick Disk drive like most of these has today, you have to use some old Atari or MAC to transfer sounds to and back from a computer. Or fix your quick disk system.

The demo track I start off with (Tell Me) is made entirely of sounds coming out of the S612. I've multi tracked it of course and additional effects are being used.
It has that 12-bit, slightly gritty sound I love."

WALDORF QUANTUM // First Quick Run-Through of a few Presets

Published on Dec 14, 2018 Genshi Media Group

"::| TO HEAR THE FULL RANGE OF FREQUENCIES, A GOOD PAIR OF HEADPHONES ARE HIGHLY RECOMMENDED |::

I finally received my Waldorf Quantum Hybrid Synth today! Was first in line at Sweetwater Sound (ordered just over a year ago!) This is just a quick run-through of a few of the presets minutes after unboxing; with the final clip being my first attempt at programming a patch. There are much better videos of this out there already, I just wanted to document my first experience with it. Once I dive deeper into this amazing beast of a synth, I will post much better videos of my own sounds and how I will use them in compositions and film scores.
