"In this video I open the best selling 1988 Korg M1* synthesizer to install a new battery. The factory presets are loaded back onto the machine using ROM cards and through MIDI with a computer.
* The M1 family sold ± 500.000 pieces.

The procedure shown here is pretty much the same for all members in the family, and all can load the M1 presets:
M1, M1R, M1ex, M1Rex, T1,T2,T2ex,T3,T3ex

Note for PC users:
For PC often the program MidiOX is advertised as tool for SysEx dumps, but it is pretty complex. I think the C6 SysEx app by Elektron, which is freeware, is closest in operation to the showcased SysEx Librarian.

Software you need for the procedure

Synthesizers.com & ASR 10 Practice Session

Published on Jan 17, 2019 The Daydream Sound

"Took about 3 years to commit to the Synthesizers.com Modular synthesizer. I didn’t really know about 5U modular systems as all the rave back then was (and continues to be) around eurorack modular instruments. To be transparent the purchasing experience wasn’t the best. Even though I bought it new, I received it in the mail in less than stellar condition. I was pretty cheesed at the time about that.

Aside from that it’s a great sounding synth. There’s only one oscillator in use in the video which is being sent to and modulated by the ladder filter module and shaped by a single envelope generator. As far as modular goes; I always wanted a straight ahead traditional analog synthesizer and this fits the bill to a tee. I think if you’re beginning as a synthesizer or sampler enthusiast an analog modular synthesizer is a great instrument to work on to understand the principles of synthesis and how to bend sounds in a way that are artistically pleasing

Anyway onto other things. This is a practice session with the Ensoniq ASR 10 as the sequencer, FX and percussion sampler and the Synthesizer.com modular system on the……. well……. on the analog stuff."
