Strymon Magneto Echo Mode [Episode 123]

Published on Mar 2, 2019 CatSynth TV

"We explore the Magneto four-head tape echo and looper module from Strymon, focusing specifically on the echo mode. We examine the basic functions of the record and playback heads, as well as the various quality controls such as Tape Age, Crinkle and Wow&Flutter.

The Pluck module from 2hp is used as a sound source for all examples in this video.

Packed with powerful features while maintaining intuitive playability, Magneto is a stereo multi-head tape delay that also functions as a looper, phrase sampler, vintage spring reverb unit, phase-aligned clock multiplier, chaotic oscillator, zero latency sub-oscillator and more, with extensive CV I/O.

Jamsession Roland TR-808, SH-101, Juno-60, JP-8 and Modal 002

Published on Mar 2, 2019 synthlegends

"Life and improvised, no overdubbing.

I used a Roland TR-808 with all three trigger outs to control
- the SH-101 for the lead line,
- the JUNO-60 for bass sequence and
- the JUPITER-8 for gated pad (filter on CF in).

I played also a Modal Electronics 002 for the Pad sound.

I only used effects for the SH-101 (delay from KORG DW-8000 E, Chorus from BOSS CE-2w and Reverb from Strymon Big Sky).

I hope, you enjoy this video. Acutally I made it in about only half an hour. Its very inspiring to work without Midi and a DAW, just record life with the internal sequencer of the TR-808."
