Queen's Radio Ga Ga on the Baloran The River synthesizer
Published on Mar 20, 2019 Sean Christopher Evoking Emotion with Synthesizers
"In 1984 Radio Ga Ga was my favorite song. I would listen to it over and over and over....until my parents intervened. LOL I created this cover of Queen's masterpiece using the Baloran The River synthesizer. EVERY sound other than the drums and Freddie's vocals come from The River. I used Cubase to mix the piece and tried to use only stock plugins to create the vibe or the original song. The only other real difference is that I slowed the piece down about 6 bpm, as my synth version just sounded better to my ears slowed down a bit. Other than that though, I tried to stay as trues as possible to the original track."

Ken Flux on the Arturia MicroFreak (live stream)
Published on Mar 20, Ken Flux Pierce Fluxwithit
"The Arturia MicroFreak is a quirky little synth with a touch plate interface, Digital oscillator, routing matrix, analog filter, and a touch plate keybed.
I was fortunate enough to be an early tester for this product as well as contributed to the Factory sound bank. Join me as I explore some of the interesing bits about this unit."

Lifeforms Primary Oscillator Pittsburgh Modular/some fun with sequences
Published on Mar 20, 2019 Dziam Bass
"Hi Guys.
I have a small movie with an oscillator that I really like and exactly think about Lifeforms Primary Oscillator from Pittsburgh Modular Synthesizers.
In the film there are 5 short parts to make it boring, each sequence a little different but I like watching movies where you can hear a few sounds instead of one boring so here a few. I really love Timbre in this oscillator and you can probably notice that I often use this slider but this oscillator sounds amazing with timbre."
Prophet Rev2 First Look #1 | Oscillators - How do they sound?
Published on Mar 20, 2019 Synth & Sundry
"The Dave Smith Instruments Prophet Rev 2, a 16-voice analog synthesizer, has two oscillators per voice with Sawtooth, Triangle, Pulse and additionally a Saw+Tri amalgam. Additionally each voice gets an oscillator and sub oscillator to round out the sound generation set available to the player.
In this video, we try out some of the sonic possibilities the oscillators on the DSI Prophet Rev2.
Since the oscillators in the Rev2 are digitally controlled analog oscillators, they have very stable tuning. However, part of the pleasing character of an analog synth comes from its imperfection and instability. This brings that back with a vengeance and gives it its own dedicated setting - Osc Slop.
Both oscillators in each voice have a frequency range that extends across 9 octaves and the Osc Frequency controls move through the full spectrum in semi-tone increments. Meanwhile the Fine Tune knob is center-detented and it allows for full a half-semitone of adjustment.
While waveform selection on offer may seem somewhat limited, this is greatly made up by the fact that the Shape Mod knob operates across all wave shapes. The naturally dull triangle shape has a great deal to gain from this feature as it really brightens the sound up a bit (somewhat reminiscent of the 'Metalizer' on Arturia analog synths).
Recorded through an RME Fireface UC audio interface without any effects or dynamics processing added."
