"Short impression of the GR series BASS sounds.

Two GR11 VCOs are used here, one VCF GR21 and supplemented with the CATCH ADSR AB.

In the first fragment, the SYNC IN of the first VCO is linked to the TRI OUT of the second VCO. For the other fragments, the PWM IN of the first VCO is linked to the SUB out of VCO two."

Trent P. McDonald - Realistic MG-1 / Modular Test

Published on Apr 25, 2016 Trent P. McDonald

"My first synthesizer was a Realistic MG-1. Yes, Radio Shack, but also Moog! In the last couple of weeks I've been using it with my (mostly dotcom) modular. In this little test I used the sounds Oscillators and Noise source from the MG-1 through the filters, envelopes, etc of the modular. Very simple patches to sound kind of like a mini and very simple tune I used to play on the MG-1 back in the mid-1980s! I hope you enjoy this (new) blast from the past"

(I Find Myself) At a Loss for Words

Published on Jun 16, 2019 Trent P. McDonald

"A quick demo of the Behringer VC340 - all sounds were created with or through the VC340 - a few sounds used the Behringer Model D (aka "Boog") as the "instrument in" for the vocoder - bass lines at the beginning, whisper voice, "percussion", lead line, etc. All other sounds just the VC340, though, of course, manipulated with my voice via the vocoder. This is in 4 main section, the last having lyrics (sung through vocoder). Images with microphone are mine, the other is from the Behringer website. The phrase 'at a loss for words' is a joke since nobody seems to know what to say when confronted with a vocoder ;) 'This is a vocoder!' is a common test ;)"

first vc340 vocoder test

Published on Jun 10, 2019 Trent P. McDonald

"I received the Behringer VC340 this morning and did a real quick, down and dirty test of the Vocoder. Nothing too fancy - I was holding the mic with my left had because I didn't have a mic stand close! So I had a hard time playing, but... The image is from the Behringer website and I don't claim ownership of the image."
