Diamonds

Published on Jul 27, 2019 davidryle

"Another adventure with the Arturia MicrFreak, Empress Reverb and Strymon Blue Sky.
The opening sequences are from the MicroFreak. The bass is a pair of Q106 vco's through a Q107 filter. Sequenced by the Q119 step sequencer.
Clocking from the MicroFreak. Clock dividers included 4MS OCD and RCD.
Percussion by Korg Volca Drum.
I noodled around with the System 8 and faded out with a pair of vco's (Harvestman Piston Honda and Ian Fritz DDVCO) sequenced by MI Marbles. Digital delays provided by Modcan and Behringer.
Thanks for listening!"

Three-Module Delay Chain

Published on Jul 27, 2019 Learning Modular

"I've been through several delays in my live performance modular case looking for a combination of performance flexibility and interesting sound that hit my personal aural sweet spot. I've finally found it: a three-module patch including an Intellijel Mixup, WMD Overseer, and a 4ms Dual Looping Delay. Here's a run-through of each module as well as the overall patch, including numerous examples of the sounds it can produce.

My patrons also have access to a long companion post that details the thought process that went into creating this, including all of the options I tried and rejected over the past year: https://www.patreon.com/posts/mgc-epi..."

Is This The Best Digital Synth EVER??!!

Published on Jul 24, 2019 Christian Henson Music

"What are your fave modern digital or analogue synths, and can you name a synth that actually looks good?

**CORRECTION** In multi mode you duplicate the entire front panel from Voice and Arp to left to all effects to right for use in Layer, Split or Dual, I imagine A and B synth can then be assigned separate outputs.

Joe Kowalski - "EarthShine"

Published on Jul 27, 2019 Joe Kowalski

"In studio single-take ambient piece. Performed on the Yamaha DX7 and recorded to Ableton Live. The DX7 is compressed a little bit and slathered in some delay and the heavenly Valhalla Verb.

Video captured on GoPro Hero 4 Session and screen capture, part of which included a webcam which was feeding a Max For Live device to be processed.

Edited in DaVinci Resolve."

Published on Jul 27, 2019 CatSynth TV

"Jeff Klukowski of Alphastare describes his setup at Outsound's annual Touch the Gear event in conversation with Jason Berry of CatSynth. His rig includes a Pocket Gamelan, KOMA Field Kit, Borderlands iPad granular synth, and sundry modules including Erica Synths, Make Noise, and more.

Outsound's original public event Touch the Gear is a hands-on, family-friendly exposition open to the public. During the evening attendees get to roam among inventors and musicians while experiencing sound producing gear, computers, instruments and inventors with their various different configurations of “gear”--everything from oscillators and electronics, to planks of wood with strings attached. All attendees get to ask questions, make sound and experience how the instruments work, in an environment that demystifies technology while inspiring creativity.

"This MaxiKorg was the second and Far Superior Model released. The First appeared to have been 'rush released' in December of 1975 because although it was identical to this second model it lacked The Jacks at the back to accomodate the VERY useful and Expressive Pedals for the hands-free manipulation of the VCF Sliders on the Front Panel for BOTH of the Two Synths!

This second model released in April or May of 1976 DID include the jacks for controlling the VCF Sliders (or 'Travelers' as they were then called)..."
