Rare Mulogix Slave 32 - Wendy Carlos DK Synergy Rack Synth SN WC002 ?

via this auction, also on Reverb

Update: you can find a link to the schematics and user manual further below.

Only one was previously featured back in 2011 for a MOTM sale posted here. According to the seller: "Supposedly the WC stands for Wendy Carlos but I have never been able to verify it. i even contacted Stoney the creator of the Slave and he thinks I am correct BUT he can not find the records in his attic."

Auction description: "I purchased this Slave in 1998. I was not even aware they existed until reading Mark Vail's book 'Vintage Synthesizers'. I am sure that book is what infected a lot of us with the vintage synth BUG.

This is like a rack mount Synergy with more features. You can control the velocity, pitch, and modulation from any vintage or modern midi controller.

The internal board is marked 002 and the hand written serial number has faded or been accidentally wiped off with a misguided spritz of contact cleaner but it also reads 002. The synth is in overall good, un-abused shape with no bent rack ears etc. It does have some very mild rack rash here and there in the typical places but overall it is very clean.

"Electronic Dream Plant Limited, WASP Synthesizer. Battery operated. Used, all functions work. 5 knobs missing their covers. Some ware and gaff tape residue on the underside. Must have for any synth collector. Does not have MIDI as the one on E-Bay from Sweden wrongly states. The Link connector are for the propitiatory digital interface EDP developed so you could link several Wasps with a Caterpillar controller."

"Have a closer look at the pictures!?

Yes thats correct! It’s modded with cv patch points all over to give you some of the 2600s capabilities!! Including cv pitch control!

The mod work was done by the famous Phil Cirocco,

This unit is in fabulous condition, is in perfect working order and sounds incredible, was restored by switched on.

We are only because we have 2 arp 2600s the little guy is hardly being used and that’s a shame!!"

"If you love x0x style sequencers and heavy duty metal chassis, this is the sequencer for you! Like any x0x sequencer, it’s very easy to learn but can also be very deep. Power supply and cheat sheet included. This SQ16 is in really great shape and is a blast to use"

"A little jam at Filo Braccio prehistoric village in filicudi. The village was inhabitated before 1700 b.c. ,when the settlement was abandoned and moved on top of Capo Graziano, which you can see behind me, partially shadowed by the dusk. There the villagers had a higher defense chance, continuing the culture of Capo Graziano originated here at Filo Braccio. the village was discovered in 1959, but it was caved out only in 2009"

Sequential In The Spotlight Interview with OLI ROCKBERGER

You can find the interview on Sequential's website here.

"Writer, producer, keyboardist, and vox man Oli Rockberger’s credits are both wide and deep. He’s gigged live or in studio with a virtual Who’s Who list of A-players including Jordan Rakei, Becca Stevens, Louis Cole, Carly Simon, Chris “Daddy” Dave, Steve Jordan, Richard Spaven, John Mayer, Steve Gadd, Gloria Gaynor, Nathan East, Will Lee and Randy Brecker. Oli is also a member of Laura Mvula’s touring band and has appeared with her on Glastonbury’s main stage, The Lincoln Center, at The Barbican with the London Symphony Orchestra, Jools Holland, and Afropunk (NY, Paris, Jo’berg).

Oli is also a co-founder of influential electronic project Mister Barrington, with Zach Danziger and Owen Biddle. Together they’ve released three albums in addition to the five solo collections Oli has put out under his own name. Oli’s latest, the self-produced Terra Firma, is a blend of modern folk and soul with an ambient and electronic sensibility, reminiscent of recent work by James Blake, Bon Iver, and Bibio. Upcoming plans for Oli include two new solo releases in the works for October 2019 and Spring 2020, in addition to a number of exciting writing/production projects for others.

We chatted with Oli on how he’s using Sequential instruments in his music."

Novation Releases Over 1,000 Free Artist Patches for Peak and Summit

via Novation:

"To celebrate the launch of Summit, throughout August, September and October, Novation are going to be releasing 1000 presets suitable for both Peak and their new flagship synth from artists including Legowelt, Craig Williams, Lightbath, Hinako Omori, Emily Sprague and Shawn Rudiman, amongst many others.

Give Peak to different people and they will always produce dramatically different sounds.Playing to Peak and Summit’s particular architectural strengths – like the multiple simultaneous synthesis types, analogue filters, VCA and distortion, the high-quality onboard effects, and so on – these patches can be of huge educational value, too, giving you insight and inspiration around the varied approaches to programming Peak and Summit to find your own sounds.

Ultimately, these 1000 artist presets comprise a vast and diverse library of basses, leads, pads, arps, FX and more that showcases the synth itself, as well as the skill and talent of some incredible sound designers – and they’re free.

At the same time, Novation have also completely redesigned the Components application from the ground up, so that you can really take advantage of the librarian and the variety of presets offered by all these inspiring artists.

The new Components browser puts the Bank Editor and content side by side, and enables content to be dragged directly into the Bank Editor patch list. Presets can also be filtered in the browser, and you now have the option of showing the Novation and User banks together. Mandatory login is no longer a requirement, either, as you can now use site-wide features without logging in (although you do still need to make an account and log in to store user content in the cloud).

1000 artist presets for Peak and Summit will be released in weekly sets via the new-look Components between the end of July and the end of October."
