CATCH AM Ambient 'bells'

Published on Oct 2, 2019 ReBach

"In this demo beautiful 'bell' sounds made with Amplitude modulation.

Two VCOs tri-wave signals of which VCO-1 is in the audio path and VCO-2 modulates the CV input of the VCA. In addition, the VCF also does filtering and the ADSR provides the VCF with envelope and also goes to the FM IN of VCO-2."

These are the options available to most of us - with vintage kit being so expensive.

Which is best for you? Essentially it comes down to what you need - keyboard? Eurorack compatible? dual filters?

MC101! First Beat Making: Industrial / Trip Hop? z10 (Unedited Footage)

Published on Oct 2, 2019

"Very first try! Be kind. Testing the new machine, I got some beats going, and used a car crash sound effect included as a preset. It was semi-successful, I could not figure out how to switch track 2 to drums (you have to Delete the Track and make a new one!)

and how to increase the length of the sequence (hold Shift and press the measure buttons!)
There is a lot of holding the Shift Key to do various things, be warned... I have not decided whether to keep this machine."

Z-DSP TAPE ECHO: WOBBLY TAPE

Published on Oct 2, 2019 Station 252

"Wobbly Tape Echo sound examples. 7th algorithm on the new Tape Echo card for Z-DSP voltage controlled effects processor from Tiptop Audio.

An internal LFO modulates the delay time slightly to give some wobble chorus/vibrato to the sound. The
modulation rate is tied to the FIlter control and speeds up as the filter sweeps up to high pass response.
Mono output.

recorded directly from Z-DSP stereo out. Patched using an assortment of Tiptop Audio modules: Tiptop ONE, Z2040, Z4000, Forbidden Planet, Circadian Rhythms, BD808 and more."
