"This Korg Vocoder is from the private collection of Ben Folds, used in 'Ben's Studio' which was the former RCA Studio A in Nashville, TN

SN: 160631. Vintage Korg vocoder. In dusty but well maintained shape. Killer piece.

"The vocoder. Yeah. The vocoder I used for an album called Fear of Pop, which actually had William Shatner on it. I use that for everything. I use that and the talk box. In fact, I got addicted to the talk box. This is where I'm not an addictive personality, but I almost had to go to some kind of halfway home or something to get off of the talk box because when you blow that much sound, a distorted guitar into your skull for a long time, you start to want to, it's addictive." - BF

Polyvoks Russian Analog Synthesizer Owned by Ben Folds

"This Polyvoks Russian Analog Synthesizer is from the private collection of Ben Folds, used in 'Ben's Studio' which was the former RCA Studio A in Nashville, TN

SN: N/A. What the hell. Super wild vintage Russian Synthesizer. Modded for modern application. Includes english instructions and step down transformer. Dusty. Missing proprietary power chord. Includes box of additional synth cleaning tools as well as some Juno-60 tapes. Latching case has seen better days but is in tact.

I dunno. Have fun with it.

"The Russian synthesizer was it was its own block of drunk eBaying on tour where I ordered a whole bunch of Russian stuff. I just, I don't know, it's like something I just decided, I guess that there must've been amazing things happening behind the iron curtain that were paralleled to the romance of that and that you could just buy it now.

So yeah, when you get something from Russia, they wrap it in a kind of construction paper, and it's always wrapped up with string around it. So there's strings. There was all these packages with string and that was the big one. I loved it because this synth I used on so much stuff. And the reason I like to use it is because it, I don't speak or read Russian so I have no idea what I'm doing, which is actually really, really helpful because you have preconceived notions of the things that you do and you don't like on a synthesizer.

You're like, "Oh I would never push down the envelope past that." Now I would never, "I would never make that kind of wave form" -- But with this thing you just start turning knobs because it's all in Russian and you get some pretty great sounds. I think it's a good synth actually. I hope it works. Does it work? I guess it works. It fired up. It works. That's awesome. Yeah." - BF

Roland JP-4 Jupiter-4 Compuphonic Synthesizer Owned by Ben Folds

"This Roland JP-4 Jupiter-4 Compuphonic Synthesizer is from the private collection of Ben Folds, used in 'Ben's Studio' which was the former RCA Studio A in Nashville, TN

SN: 003733. Whoa! What an awesome vintage beats. Some scratchy pots and sliders but everything settles in. Missing the plastic slider on the VCF/LFO but the metal is still there. Some wear around the wooden veneer. Tape residue on some of the keys.

"Yes, I love this thing. I like that thing, that old Roland. I had a few Roland's, that's my favorite because it's the dirtiest sounding one. It will test your patience tuning it because you have to get a screwdriver out and then it goes in like little sections but, I used to do the tuning. I didn't mind doing that, but it's not like today. You know where everything is just in tune, you have to earn it with that keyboard, but it's so cool.

There's nothing that sounds like it. Yeah. I had bought about 4 synths in about, I don't know, 2002 maybe on on eBay. I think I was drunk on tour and I came home off tour and there are all these big boxes outside the studio and that was in one of them and I used it so many times. I used that for so much stuff.

That was the main keyboard for an album called Lonely Avenue that I made with Nick Hornby, the author, British novelist. I used it on an Amanda Palmer record. Actually, it's funny, I was using that. There's some lost tapes I made with Josh Groban where we were recording him and just odd circumstance that you wouldn't imagine his voice sitting into. I though it was beautiful. Apparently I think his label, and his producer at the time said, "You should not do that. Don't hang out with that guy anymore." But I remember using that as like a kind of a low bass sound doubling Josh's voice and an acoustic guitar and it was actually absolutely gorgeous.

It was really, really cool. It's nothing like what he normally does, which is great too, but actually that's what I think of the most when I think of that synth because it just something about the dirt of that synthesizer and Josh's voice was just very, very cool. Yeah. Lost lost tapes." - BF

"This is the flagship Lord Mono of the Rising Sun. No other Japanese monophonic was ever taken to this extreme. With the incredible eternal build quality of late 70s Japan, this is a no brainer future proof Lion ready to rip the throat out of its prey.
The CS-30 is a full-fledged synthesizer equipped with 2 systems of VCO, VCF, and VCA as well as 3 EGs and a built in sequencer.
Routing options boarder on insane. Ring Modulator. Sample and Hold. Resonant Filters. LP/BP/HP switched Oscillators.
External input that allows one to run whatever you please through many different systems onboard including the resonant filters, 3 envelope generators, infinite LFO routing, ring modulator, etc..

But the sound is the big story here. Bigger, meaner, louder, more stable, better. You want to impress on impact? CS-30.

This is my baby and my interest is only in finding a deserving next owner. I have no motivation to 'dump'. Hell, I just spent $500 on a check-up, clean, calibrate with Electronic Innovations. I love this machine."

The SN of the Memorymoog appears to be 1254.

"It’s a plus model and was unused for about 30 years. Never touched inside until we gave it a full recap and suite of upgrades including a new fan.

This unit works great and 6 tunes every time!"

New ADDAC215 Dual S&H+ & ADDAC104 VC T-Networks Eurorack Modules

ADDAC215 Dual S&H+

"This new module should not be judged by it’s size, at 6hp it’s packed with features.

At it’s core it features a noise source and two precision Sample & Holds with 0.01% of maximum deviation from the Input which allows for quantized signals to be sent through without any noticeable detuning or the typical voltage drops over time.

The Sample & Hold sections can also be used as a Track & Hold meaning it holds the incoming input while the Trigger input is ON and lets the input flow to the output when the Trigger input is OFF.
Each section also features it’s own slew processor with a single control over attack and decay and an ON/OFF switch.

The noise signal is normalled to both sections inputs, meaning that without a jack plugged into the Input the sample and hold function will act upon the incoming noise signal generating random CV values.

The [Trigger A Alternate] switch allows to Link both sections so that any trigger input in Trigger A will alternate between triggering the A and B section.

Besides each section outputs there’s also 4 extra outputs: Noise, Difference, Average and Sum. The [Noise] output is coming from the noise source, the [Difference] output is the subtraction of section A minus section B, the [Average] output is the sum of both A plus B and then divided by 2 and finally the [Sum] output is the sum of both A plus B sections.

This module will also be available as a full DIY kit."

ADDAC104 VC T-Networks

"Following our ADDAC103 T-Networks this new module is also inspired by Twin T-Networks circuits used in many lengendary drum machines. A simple 4 voice module with frequency controls for each of the voices. This new module also features CV inputs with attenuverters for each voice Frequency. Due to the specificities of the circuit and to keep the module at a low price these inputs are not callibrated to 1v/octave.

At each voice input there’s a gate to trigger converter so any input source is possible.
Audio inputs can also be used as an input, in this case and due to the nature of the gate to trigger converter, each voice can be used as very destructive filters.

Features;
4 Voices each with:
Frequency control with CV input and attenuverter Frequency Range Switch, Low/Mod/High
Trigger Input
Audio Output

Summing Mix output with Volume control

This module will also be available as a full DIY kit."
