Velour Arpeggiations Published on May 12, 2019 zack dagoba

"I just got a vintage Akai ME20A MIDI Arpeggiator (from 1986) and here are my first tests with it. Its great! Its more like a basic note sequencer, as it will record whatever notes you play in and then replay them at its internal clock. But it will also arpeggiate held chords, but not in real time like a normal arpeggiator, you have to load the chords in first. Also there is no external clock sync, so to integrate this thing into a larger system would mean recording the MIDI data into the computer sequencer and using that as an editor and clock source for other devices

The synth is the mighty Sequential Prophet T8 - velvety and lush. The Effects are various Roland 80s rack units, the DEP5, SRV2000 and SDE3000"

"It's not a typical MIDI Arpeggiator. You need to record notes or chords in real time. I've linked a youtube video that has a good demo of it."

Original 1970's MOOG 1120 Voltage Pedal Controller

"The 1120 appeared around 1973 and continued in production with revisions at least until 1978, by which time it had been joined in the Moog catalogue by the 1130 Percussion Controller, the 1121 footswitch, the 1150 Ribbon Controller and the 1125 Sample & Hold.

The 1120 is a very sturdily built all-metal foot pedal, has a 9V battery internally (or can use a 9V mains transformer) and has two quarter inch jack outputs marked Output and Aux Out - in fact these are sending exactly the same output, from near 0V to near 9V.

The 1120 was intended for use with the Moog Sonic 6, MiniMoog, Moog Modular systems and other products, so it's an ideal addition to any Moog collection. However it's perfectly compatible with any modern CV-based modular system including Eurorack systems, creating volume swells, filter wah effects, VCLFO speed changes or anything you need.

This one's in extremely good condition with no significant wear to the Moog logo and underside label."

"...original owner. Bought in Dallas very early after it hit the market along with the SCI Drumtraks which I'll be selling too. It's been stored in it's original box for several years. Used only in a home studio to write and record during the 80's. Still works as it did when new. No major issues that I can find other than some paint that has chipped off along the front under the keys exposing the metal (Yep, built of metal, not plastic!) Minor scratches on the back where it rested against the keyboard stand. Really good condition since it never was gigged. From a smoke-free home. Manual included in great condition."

Published on Jan 26, 2020 Ron Cavagnaro

"Please make sure to keep your volume at a moderate level. Due to the experimental quality of this synth some parts may become noisy to some, and extremely irritable to others.

This tutorial is about how to modulate the oscillators using the Soma Labs Lyra-8 Drone Synth, using the Hyper LFO."
