Dark ambient jam w/ Moog Matriarch, Dreadbox Abyss, ARP Odyssey, Empress Reverb, Big Sky, Timefactor

Published on Feb 21, 2020 Jay Hosking

"A live, semi-improvised performance, all on hardware, and inspired by grief. This track is something of a culmination of the ambient pieces I've been doing recently, taking advantage of three analogue synths with a lot of character. The Matriarch, Abyss, and Odyssey are all kind of dark and textural synths, and with some spectacular effects (thank you as always, Empress, Strymon, and Eventide), they immediately put me in a mood."

Roland Fantom (Ver. 1.50) Focus on VOCODER (2 of 2) - "Doin' it right" - DAFT PUNK cover

Published on Feb 21, 2020 gattobus

Part 1 here

"Here's the second video focus on Fantom's VOCODER (OS ver. 1.50 onwards)
A quick tutorial on how to replicate the vocoder voice of Daft Punk.
If you just want to hear the cover, you can skip at min 2:04
I recommend listening using a good pair of headphones.
(This song contains some very low frequencies it may not sound well in small speakers ;) )

Song's been sequenced using Fantom's internal sequencer.
Some vocals have been dubbed, others were sampled inside the Fantom and played in real time through the sequencer."

Vintage Oberheim Matrix 12 Synthesizer Sounds

Published on Feb 21, 2020 Perfect Circuit

"In this video, we check out the raw sound of Oberheim's Matrix-12, arguably the last great analog polysynth of the 1980s: a multi-timbral behemoth that packs the power of twelve modular synthesizers into a single instrument. To learn more about what makes the Matrix-12 so special, check out our blog Signal: https://www.perfectcircuit.com/signal...

Closely related to the Oberheim Xpander, the Matrix-12 features twelve analog voices with digital control and digital memory. Each voice has two oscillators, a noise source, a 15-mode filter, two audio VCAs, five DADSR envelopes, five multi-mode LFOs/S&Hs, four ramp generators, three tracking generators...the list goes on. And perhaps most interestingly, it uses a digitally-controlled signal routing matrix to connect these internal modules to one another, recreating the experience and sound of a modular synthesizer without all the patch cables.

Additionally, each of the twelve voices' timbres can be defined independently, meaning that the Matrix-12 is a great machine for huge layered synth orchestras, evolving analog soundscapes, and dense forests of deeply modulated sound. With the opportunity to produce everything from classic Oberheim brass to self-playing generative noodles, the Matrix-12 is no doubt still one of the most powerful keyboard synthesizers ever made.

Pics of the inside below.

"Oberheim Matrix-12 in excellent physical condition and in perfect working order.
All six original encoders work and "click" properly with no skipping. All push buttons work properly with no double clicking or sticking.

All LED screens and letters work properly with no lights or digits burned out and no faded characters. All 12 voices (VCOs + PW + VCA + VCF) tune properly with one simple touch. They always tune up properly with no errors!
All keys function properly. Even the inside of this unit as seen in the photos is spotless- no dust bunnies here!
The inside of this Matrix-12 looks literally brand new as seen in the photos.
All the silkscreen on the back of the unit with the "MATRIX 12" label and on the front show no signs of fading or scratches or discoloration.
Original wooden panels look practically new with little to no wear.

This Matrix-12 is MADE IN USA.

Includes original Matrix-12 manual and Xpander manual (both manuals compliment each other)."

"If you've never tried a sequential sampler think of a rack mounted Emulator II with resonant analog filters, for two decades these went under the radar because there was no reliable software editor around for them, and the floppy drives used to fail, rendering them a block of metal.

However after upgrading them with SD storage, and making sure it had the last OS wine country had to offer, the system was opened up by a brilliant German guy who made a FREE ! Mac/PC editor for it.
please google curlsystems prophet2002 for more info

Allowing SDS Midi dumping of samples, full mapping and editing.

The SD card on this one means you just pull the SD card out, and put it on your PC/Mac and drag your sound file to the SD card, plug it back in to the Prophet and your good to load in your new samples.
The resonant Curtis filters really take things to the next level, and you will soon find that this is one of the few samplers that has a UNISON stack mode and an Arpeggiator !

Model on offer here is fully expanded to 8 individual outputs and it has the full 512k ram upgraded so it known as the Prophet 2002 plus.

These samplers are pretty rare and have a sound like the EMUSP1200, but with full filters.
Ive tried to keep hold of this, but I've just no time for making music anymore.
So it has to go.."
