Thought this one was interesting. Most Pulse and Pulse + synthesizers had a matte Nextel surface. This one is shiny like the newer model Qs. I forget if there was a later run of the Pulse with this surface.
Update via swissdoc: "Frank Schneider from Waldorf confirmed those to be late models. Nextel was tricky to handle, so not all production partners could do it. Environmental safety was quite a challenge, so not all could adhere to those regulations. Powder is more robust and better to the environment."
"I'm not sure that 'Epic Sci-Fi Ambient' is a thing but this is definitely sci-fi and somewhere between epic and ambient, so I'm sticking with it.
So with this one I pretty much made what I actually set out to, which was a Blade Runner ish inspired soundscape 'nice' ambient thing. I'm using the Clavia Nord Lead 12 Voice for pads and lead/bass (I made the pad sound this morning, not sure if the lead/bass is one of mine or a preset tbh), Sony MiniDisc MZ-N710 with a field recording I made of passing cars in the rain back in the early 2000's, both with a boat load of Zoom 1201 reverb. I chose to most random bunch of chords ever but somehow it hangs together.
Absolutely the kind of soothing music I'm looking for at the moment!"

"The Logan Vocalist, by Logan Electronics, 1979, Italy.
The Logan Vocalist is an analogue synthesizer designed to mimic the sound of a polyphonic choir and the solo human voice. Evocative vocal-like sounds are made using a mixture of hard-synced oscillators, analogue filtering, and ensemble and vibrato effects.
There isn't a lot of information on this rare and interesting synth, and the schematics are the only documents I can find. If anyone has more information, including the A3 folded manual that Peter Forrest mentions in his A-Z book, please let me know!

Not much to say on this one. Wanted to do some kind of minimal techno type thing (is this even techno? I don't know, I'm so bad with my electronic genres), and this is where I ended up. I think I'm gonna use the "Cluster" sound engine on every single one of my tracks because it's just so dreamy."
