LE CHOC DU FUTUR - THE SHOCK OF THE FUTURE Synth Movie

Published on May 3, 2019 MPM Premium

This one was sent in by a good friend of mine, Carla. I can't believe I hadn't heard of this one before. There's some prime synth spotting in the trailer alone. It's currently streaming on Amazon Prime. Note this is an actual movie, not a documentary. The film features music by Human League, Devo, Throbbing Gristle, Marc Collin, Clara Luciani, Jean-Michel Jarre, Cerrone, Aksak Maboul, Suicide, and Julie London.

In the trailer: Roland CompuRhythm CR-78, Moog modular, ARP 2600 orange & black, and a Yamaha CS80. Vintage Maestro Phase Shifter as well.

Description for the trailer above:

"FRANCE, 2019 / 84 MIN / FRENCH

In the Paris of 1978, old formulas do not charm listeners anymore and new music must arise. In a male-dominated industry, Ana uses her electronic gadgets to make herself heard, creating a new sound that will mark the decades to come: the music of the future.

WITH
Alma Jodorowsky from 'Blue is the Warmest Color'
(Cannes 2013); Philippe Rebbot from 'Gauguin' (2017);
Clara Luciani and Corine, both French singers

Produced by Nebo Productions, The Perfect Kiss Films
and Sogni Vera Films"

ESK - twisted electrons MEGAfm Synth Setups

Published on May 2, 2020 Metunar

"Synth setup demos with the twisted electrons MEGAfm polyphonic 4OP-FM synth with Yamaha YM2612 chips.

Arturia Minibrute Setup:
MEGAfm mono out -- Arturia Minibrute filter input -- Lexicon MX200 effectunit stereo out

Haken Setup:
Haken Continuum Fingerboard midi out -- MEGAfm mono out -- Lexicon MX200 effectunit stereo out

The Haken Continuum Fingerboard is an old one with only midi out. I didn’t use the Y (Up/Down) and Z (Pressure) axis.

Elektron Digitone Setup:
MEGAfm Stereo out -- Elektron Digitone stereo out

In the beginning you hear the sound of the MEGAfm, followed by some sounds of the Digitone.
With 8 Midi CC i controlled the MEGAfm through the Digitone. I also used on the CC many parameter locks.

Prophet 600 Synthesizer Vol. 3 GliGli Sound Demo Custom Patches - Sequential Circuits

Published on May 2, 2020 Tom Loncaric

"Yet another video of the incredibly versatile Sequential Circuits Prophet 600 six-voice polyphonic synthesizer! Lots of 'old school' sounds. This Prophet 600 was made in about 1983, and features the significant upgrade GliGli mod.

All sounds in the video were programmed by me and performed live, in the spirit of the big keyboard tones of the 1970’s and 1980’s.

Effects:
Demeter RV-1 Real Spring Reverb
Moog Minifooger Delay"

Kawai K4, The dirty one

"This video shows of the Kawai K4. It has a special tone to it. And why it always surprises me how good sounds that can come out of though it is so cheap and flimsy it is."

"Crazy little sound box
w/ a Piezo Pickup inside great for acoustic/electro noises.

The real joy is the sound processing that it can do, delays, reverbs shimmers even some ring modulation.

Great condition only is issue is the two small holes that we put in to support something else. Doesn't effect it in anyway."

Moogerfooger Phaser - Using Control Voltage with the Moog Phaser

Published on May 2, 2020 David Morley

"The Moogerfooger Phaser from Bob Moog is a great unit that allows control voltage of many features. In this example I use my DSI Tempest to play a simple sequence which is then passed through the phaser and voltage controlled from my Schrittmacher sequencer creating a kind of S&H effect. Enjoy!"

Moog Mother-32 with v2 Firmware Update

"We demonstrate the basic functionality of the Moog. Mother-32, including its analog VCO, VCF and VCA, as well as its modulation sources and sequencer. We then show how to update the Mother-32 to the new V2 firmware using MIDI sysex. The new firmware has several new sequencer features, including multiple play modes (forward, reverse, ping-ping, and random), as well as additional triplet and dotted subdivisions that are useful when synchronizing with external devices.

Lay Down Your Shield by No Man's Island

Behind the scenes: creating the synth riff for Lay Down Your Shield

Published on May 2, 2020 No Man's Island
Update: video above added.

"A small secret about Lay Down Your Shield (released on April 28th) is that it was really already started on in December 2018. Songwriting is a long process 😅 The main riff of the song was created by Rune tweaking some sounds on his MFB Dominion 1 synthesizer, and eventually thought to himself 'hey, this sounds rather cool, doesn't it?'."

New track from supporting member, Rune Flobakk.

"We are not primarily a 'synth band' by any means, but the sound relies heavily on synths. On this song I used both an Alesis Andromeda A6 and an Oberheim Matrix-12. The arpeggiator riff in the verses is played on the Andromeda, and I use the Matrix-12 for chords in the refrain and bridge. The song is available on Spotify and most other streaming services"
