Gotta love analogue synth-based drums....

Published on May 22, 2020 rezfilter

"Here's yet more random synth stuff. I love analogue synth drums and percussion. Who doesn't? Here are a few synths and sequencers creating just that, and some Impulse Command thrown in for good measure.

Generator sequencers, Oberkorn sequencer, Telemark, Fusebox, Impulse Command, Leipzig-s.

Power!"

Techno Jam with Moog Subharmonicon

Published on May 22, 2020 Sound Provider

"On this video, I did a kind of Hypnotic techno Jam with the Moog Subharmonicon Synth.

For this one I play a lot with the Seq1 to do and improvise different rhythm.

I think I m happy enought with the synth sound to release a tarck with it later when I 'll have time to record other layers and make a better arrangement.

For this demo I use only sound from my Sound Provider Sample pack ( www.sound-provider.eu )

SOMA Lyra-16: "Valkyries"

Published on May 22, 2020

Pink Lyra. They are available. See the dealers on the right.

"(Try loud with headphones for the bass) So I was talking to/caught up with a friend recently. He had a play on the Lyra (PS playing a Lyra changes a man), and after his transition to drone, he asked me a good question: "What better instrument is there for drone music than a Lyra-8?".

He challenged me on it, and rephrased the question to "I bet you can't think of a better drone synth than a Lyra-8".

I asked him what the odds were, and we agreed on a cup of coffee for the winner.

I went away and had a think about it for a good 23 minutes or so, after which it dawned on me: better than a Lyra-8 for drone music is... two Lyra-8's.

Obvious, really.

So: I win, and he owes me a coffee :)

PS the included is relatively 'mild'. You should hear it when a line out is taken from each Lyra... into each Lyra. If you've ever seen the movie 'Event Horizon', you'll know what I'm talking about i.e a direct portal to hell. I'll upload an example in the near future. It could create a black hole, but it will be worth the risk as it could help out CERN with their research. And even if we do all perish in the blackness: there's worse ways to depart. I'll see you all there.

PPS the audio/video sync is off on this one. I think it is due to my being zoomed in with the camera. But it'll do for upload purposes.

Enjoy/all best
Kris"

Best Ambient Synth Shootout #90: Ensoniq SQ-R Plus - Song 3

Published on May 22, 2020 Christian's Sonic Spaces

"This is the third song with the SQ-R Plus/32. It's a 32 voice 8-part multitimbral synthesizer. It features 9 Transwaves, Ensoniq's kind of wave tables.

I used for the recording the following FX chain:
SQ-R Plus/32 - Digitech Obscura - Pigtronix Echolution 2 Deluxe - GFI System Specular Reverb 2. Depending on the recorded track some FX are deactivated

The signal went through a Presonus StudioLive 16.0.2 into the PC via USB for recording. To create the complete song I recorded consecutively several stereo tracks. The final song was then mastered with a bit EQ and compression on some tracks and some limiting on the master track.

Well, I decided to go back to the basics, but at the same time make something useful for the synth community and do a kind of competition (I like competitions;-). What's my best synth for ambient music :-)

If you like it check out my other stuff and please support me on:

Enjoy :-)

AMBIENT Arpeggiator on Arturia PIGMENTS

Published on May 21, 2020 Alba Ecstasy

"75 #Ambient #Patches for #ArturiaPigments 👉https://www.albaecstasy.ro

This is a reinterpretation of the Pigments part I played for 'This Path Has No End' track from my latest album, “Realm of Silence”, available on Bandcamp 👉https://albaecstasy.bandcamp.com

Played in real time here, with the Prophet REV2 (if it matters somehow!) as controller, what you hear is what you can get out of the Arturia Pigments.

You know me: I'm surrounded all the time by analog and VA, digital, FM, wavetable - whatever synths, but, from time to time, I like to explore virtual goodies like this one. Because it's not important what you use to obtain a sound, but the result. And Arturia makes really nice virtual synthesizers, easy to integrate into a hybrid mix of instruments.

All internal effects of Pigments.

Hope you'll enjoy as much as I did!
ae

PS: This patch is not included in the above named pack, but it will be part of a new bank!"
