In this video I tried to make use of the A4's architecture, whilst keeping things musical. It's very easy with this much power at your fingertips to overcook it and just make either a sonic mess, or a sound that only works in isolation. Hopefully I've struck the balance.

Examples of things I did:
Dual sequence utilising the playback and step repeat modes. I sequenced some chords in one section with oscillator 1 + 2 (tuned a fifth apart) following sequencer A and oscillator 3 following sequencer B.

For the lead sound I also used the sequencer as a modulation source sent to phase synched oscillators and the filters that also had its tempo CV'd from an envelope so that it sped up and down rollercoaster style.

I ran my Juno through the A4 via the external signal in and envelope follower. This allowed me to control the A4 from the Juno, but have the dual A4 filters on it. I also tuned in two of the A4's oscillators to complimentary intervals and they were coming through with the Juno every time it gated the synth.

The main riff was a blend of three oscillators and the ring modulator with a combination of linear and exponential modulation and oscillator sync.

There were also various stereo bass sounds - subby and round, sharp and phat, and driven and heavy. The distortion comes from the synth itself.

I also made some floaty, trippy sounds with the A4 in the middle eight, as well as various FX.

Hopefully this all gives a glimpse into what it can do.

"Be welcome! I am very happy to have you here. This is my third video in the sequence of 5.

This is a challenge, I am looking for new timbres with my synthesizers, but I decided to look for them in different places, in this case it was a wonderful sunset in the city of Sorriso, Mato Grosso, Brazil.

All sounds, modification were created in real time. I used the Moog grandmother to make the bass, the Eurorack modular Vinicius Brazil to create the melodic part, the Novation Peak for the leads, and Pogona 3 by Arthur Joly to create the percussive part, the whole drum is 100% analog.

The melodies are coming through Ableton live only this is digital. And of course this wonderful video captured by La Isla Filmes."

The Korg SV-2, Crumar Seven and Viscount Legend '70s, are all three powerful instruments that offer each a unique set of features, control panel and most importantly, type of sound. New SSL Serge Dual Slope Generator in MU Format

"SERGE DUAL SLOPE GENERATOR IN MU FORMAT ANNOUNCED

Synthetic Sound Labs has just released the flexible 1240 Dual Slope Generator (DSG) - a long awaited addition to the MU world - designed in close collaboration with the legendary Serge Tcherepnin.

The 1240 DSG is the ultimate patch-programmable control voltage generator. A Serge Slope Generator is a slew limited unity gain voltage follower whose positive and negative slew rates are voltage controllable. It has an extremely wide range covering sub-sonic to high audio rates. Trigger inputs and pulse / gate outputs extend the slewing functions for use as a voltage controlled (VC) LFO, envelope generator and a variable pulse delay mono-stable functions.

One VC responds roughly exponentially, and two additional VC inputs are routed to individual Rise and Fall slope attenuverters for maximum flexibility and convenience. This newly updated circuit now includes temperature compensation to help eliminate drifting. The linearity and accuracy of the slews allow them to be used for exacting applications such as portamento functions.

The 1240 has two identical slope generators (A & B) - each of which can be set to self- trigger (Loop), or even to trigger each other for some wild modulation and audio
effects. It also has two auxiliary outputs which provide an output that is the greater of A

& B (PEAK), and another that is the lesser of A & B (TROUGH). These are interesting and go far beyond normal summing / mixing.
Among the many functions the 1240 DSG can perform are (x2):
• VC Transient / Envelope Generator - simply started by trigger or gate at TRIG IN.
• VC LFO - The rates are controlled by the Rise and Fall Rate knobs and inputs, and
the slopes controlled from LOG thru Linear to Exponential.
• VC Timing Pulse / Gate generator.
• VC Portamento with separate controls for rise and fall rates, and slopes.
• Envelope Follower (Detector) - The VC decay rate allows the response to be
moved from positive to negative peak detection.
• VC Pulse Delay (Monostable).
• Sub-Harmonic Series Generator. A trapezoidal wave-shape is generated for
sonorous, smooth sounds.
• Audio Generator with variable symmetry and a range into kilohertz regions.
• Non-Linear Low-Pass Filter. The VC slew limiting can progressively turn a sawtooth
wave into a triangle and many variations between. Thus a slope generator can be used as a very interesting low-fidelity VCF.
