"This Friday on my Bandcamp I'll be releasing a digital download of my rare original cassette release, Meditation Environments, from 1986. To be played softly . . .

All proceeds will always go to the The United Way Fire Fund for aid, relief and rebuilding the communities near me, Talent and Phoenix, Oregon that were devastated by the Almeda Fire which began on September 8, 2020 just north of Ashland and swept through those neighboring towns. I have also built a webpage with links to specific donation paths for your further consideration: Indigenous, low income, and immigrant families, seasonal workers, Oregon Shakespeare Festival employees, and many more.

The Album
I composed this 1986 and was clearly influenced by Brian Eno's Ambient I: Music for Airports. Like its model I would recommend listening at a soft volume and even in the background. There is a "sonic wallpaper" quality to be enjoyed. In 1986 I sold the dubbed cassettes by mail order out of my studio. A few years later it had a limited commercial cassette run via World Room Music.

Usually I create a title before, during or after composing a piece. In this case, I had no titles in mind and used/consulted the I Ching for these two titles. 'I' means Providing Nourishment. 'Shih Ho' is Biting Through."

Has non-detented pots, but they work smoothly with no glitching or jumping. Volume knob has a very slight wobble that John Bowen himself confirmed is normal on some units manufactured during this time. There is no issue, no crackling or noise. Works perfectly.

Includes, power brick with US power cord, CF Card, USB CF card reader, printed owner's manual and original shipping documentation. Ships in original box and packing foam inserts, which will be supplemented with bubble wrap as needed."
