Erica Synths Introduces Black Sequencer Eurorack Module

Erica Synths

"Hello world! It has been a long trip, but we are glad to announce that the Black Sequencer will be finally available on November 20th this year. We are really excited about it and cant wait to see how you will integrate it in your eurorack setup!

Patch description - Rhythmic bass part is made with Black VCO II PULSE and SUB outs mixed together an then send through the upcoming Black LPG module and then sent through the Black Stereo Delay in TAPE mode. Main lead is also a Black VCO II but with a SAW output sent through the Multimode VCF and Black Hole DSP II with "Stalker Reverb" patch loaded. The quiet rhythmic piano is Pico Voice in Wavefolder mode. Everything is sequenced with the Black Sequencer."

Details:

"The Erica Synths Black Sequencer takes classical modular sequencing to the next level by adding tons of features required for contemporary modular synthesizers.

The Black Sequencer features 4 channels with CV, gate and modulation outputs, up to 64 step sequences that can be chained into songs, independent track time divisions, multiplications and lengths. It includes a built-in quantizer, LFOs, envelope generators, parameter randomization, a MIDI in/out and many other features essential for composing and performing electronic and experimental music. Even though it provides many programmable parameters per step, it’s intuitive, easy and straightforward to use, and we believe that it will become a master controller for many modular setups.

Features
4 CV/GATE/Modulation tracks
MIDI IN and MIDI OUT
Clock and Reset In/Out
16 encoders for easy sequence input
Up to 64 steps per pattern
Song mode – up to 64 patterns in chain, each pattern can be repeated up to 32 times

"Routes and merges midi data between two USB devices and one TRS midi device.

USB Bridge A features two midi USB hosts and conventional TRS midi (type A) input and output.
Midi data is routed between the connected devices and merged if necessary. Routing is very fast with very low latency.

Data received from a USB device will be send to the other USB device and to the TRS output.
Data received on the TRS input will be sent to the two USB devices.
Depending on the kind of data it will be merged, see below.

You can use this to:

Connect one or two midi USB midi controllers/keyboards to a conventional midi device
Connect a keyboard to a module with only USB device capability
Connect a cheap USB midi interface and get more conventional midi IOs
Use your phone to control your Eurorack or as a synthesizer
Connect a synthesizer via USB"

"Kebu shows off his Roland synth collection. In this part, Kebu presents his JD-XA, SE-02 and FANTOM. In the end of the video, Kebu gives a jam with the three synths, controlled and clocked from the FANTOM.
