Powertran Transcendent 2000 vintage analogue synth

"Powertran Transcendent 2000 Analogue Synthesizer. Monophonic, so not possible to play chords on the keyboard. Testing this unit leads to the conclusion that a bit of setting-up and calibrating is required.
A home built kit from 1978, it has been working in the early days and put to good use. Now left unwanted and unused.
The original construction article with full instructions to build and calibration is supplied. Not all components used in the construction are as specified and the power cord and switch have been replaced by a Euro-style input socket and cable is supplied. The main printed circuit board, metalwork, cabinet and keyboard are the origanals as supplied by Powertran.
A known problem is that a few of the contact spring sets to the keyboard are out of alignment and I presume to be fixable. One of the wooden side panels has been split and badly repaired by my younger self (Shame on me) see image. Although not shown on the images, the metal base plate is included

The Transcendent 2000 was seen to be a great synthesizer in the early electronic music era, especially by those that wanted to have a good and low-cost instrument."

Roland D2 Compact Performance Groovebox Sequencer / Sound Module

"Roland's D2 Groovebox is a compact, performance-oriented Groovebox (sequencer/sound module)--sort of a smaller MC-505--designed entirely around Roland's D-Field Controller technology. This touch-sensitive pad makes it easy to program and modify patterns, sounds, effects and more simply by touching the surface. It has all of the 505's sounds and a similar sequencer with 150 all-new patterns including the latest 2-Step and R&B styles.

The D-Field controller at the heart of the D2 (also featured on the V-Synth) offers three distinct modes: SOUND makes playing patterns and sound effects easy by touching the D-Field; XY provides simultaneous control over two parameters (e.g. filter cutoff + resonance); SPIN creates turntable-style effects by tracing the pad in a circular motion.

The D2 has more than enough sounds inside, with 600 Preset patches and 30 Preset drum kits from the MC-505. These dance-oriented sounds include ultra-fat bass and lead synths, screaming TB-303's, dance piano and strings, plus 30 floor-pounding drum kits. Phrase/Groove loops are also plentiful with 150 patterns plus 240 RPS (Realtime Phrase Sequence) patterns. There is a new Step Recording method using the D-Field and 32 LEDs as well. Separate Reverb, Delay and Multi-FX sections with Groove-oriented algorithms add space and effects to your sounds & grooves. And with the D2's Megamix function, it's easy to remix patterns into your own creations using the D-Field or Value dial."

YAMAHA DX5 - Ambient piano music soundscape | Synthesizer demo

synth4ever

"Yamaha DX5 ambient piano music soundscape and synthesizer demo. This Yamaha DX5 ambient chillout song features the Yamaha DX5 FM synth + Eventide Timefactor delay and Space reverb effects.

In this piece I used the Yamaha DX5 to create a somber mood via a portamento lead patch, rhythmic delays and reverb. The Yamaha DX5 was in dual mode which layered two patches at once, for two distinct sounds. This is showcased via industrial noise sounds that come in midway through the piano improvisation.

The Yamaha DX5 is a classic FM synthesizer that enables creative applications, especially when mixing and matching various patches during a performance. As such I tried to create an ambient soundscape that reflected a more emotional state, especially considering the difficult times we are in today.

Hope you enjoy the music and Yamaha DX5 synth demo."

Free Ableton live Instruments - Crumar Roadrunner 2 E piano with chorus

Expanding Sound

"The Crumar Roadrunner is a pretty straightforward e piano, but with a really nice chorus effect built in. Though it is similar to some of my other packs in the e-piano style like the Univox EP-120 and the Yamaha CP-10, the chorus does give it its own unique flair. This pack contains 4 Ableton Instruments, 1 with its own straight sound, and 3 with different chorus rates, slow medium and fast. Grab your Free Crumar Roadrunner 2 Ableton Instruments now!"

Best Ambient Synth Shootout #101: Kasser DAFM Synth - Song 2

Christian's Sonic Spaces

"This is the second song with the DAFM Synth. It's an FM synthesizer based on either the YM2612 yamaha chip (used in SEGA Genesis / Megadrive home consoles and various SEGA arcade game systems, including the Mega-Play, System 18, and System 32) or the cleaner sounding YM3438 chip (as in my DAFM) without the crossover distortion in the output. Both sound chips has six channels with four operators per channel.

I used for the recording the following FX chain:
DAFM - DigiTech Obscura - Pigtronix Echolution 2 Deluxe - GFI System Specular Reverb 2. Depending on the recorded track some FX are deactivated

The signal went through a Presonus StudioLive 16.0.2 into the PC for recording. To create the complete song I recorded consecutively several stereo tracks. The final song was then mastered with a bit EQ and compression on some tracks and some limiting on the master track."

Making generative music on IOS | SynthFest

SynthFest France

"Self-generating experimental music. No external controller. Only music apps, triggered by real time MIDI event generators. The FRMS application (multi-layer granular synthesizer) receives MIDI notes from an instance of Fugue Machine. The second instance of Fuge Machine generates events for Skaka (percussion sound module). The groove box DrumComputer loops on a beat with some random modulations. A melody (glassy sound) is generated by the Kronecker synthesizer which receives events from Autony (a semi-random MIDI event generator). The second Autony generator controls the melody (string) played by Aparillo. The whole thing is mixed in AUM and recorded for 4 minutes."
