Electric Dreams | Analog Drums and Synths

Espen Kraft

"Just a little fun with the Korg KR-55 I have at the moment. While playing with it I got the desire to make a cover of a classic 80s song I love, a fully analog cover.
As I was doing just that I felt it needed a little vocoding so I laid down a track of that as well, but that is not analog vocoding so it didn't end up a 100% fully analog cover, but the result is more important than that... ;-)"

Four Pocket Operators and AUM iPad app

Dj Puzzle

"Finally got around to setting this up proper and having a bit of messing with it. This time I'm using my brand new 2020 iPad Air. TC Helicon Blender at the hub and controlling the mix and effects in AUM on the iPad. Kick back and lose your self in this chill jam. :)"

Korg Polysix vs Roland JUNO-60

synthlegends

"Comparison and review of of the Korg Polysix and Roland JUNO-60.

Both synths are form 1982 and had been as low priced polysynths very popular (cheap Prophet 5 vs Jupiter-8). Both synths have a very similar structure and that is why a comparision is interesting.

Anyway, both synths sound very different because of its unique sound components (oscillators and filters). I would describe the Polysix as american sounding with a strong dark tone. The JUNO-60 sounds a bit more modern and feels always well in the mix. It is not so fat as the Polysix but very smooth sounding, especially with its great stereo chorus.

I recorded both synths without mastering or effects directly into my audio interface, the JUNO with a pair of stereo jacks, the Polysix with its mono jack.

I hope the video helps you to decide which synth is better for you if you can't or won't afford both. Cheers and please stay well."

"E-MU Systems Morpheus - Z-Plane filter morphing digital synthesizer with memory card & original box"

"Yes, it sounds like the video (which was recorded directly from a Morpheus) *if* you know how to program it and modulate it the way that artist does. Please be aware that the artist behind "Insanity 2" is a mega genius and also that it would take years even for a mega genius to discover how to program sounds up to that level, though the unit does indeed project that amazing quality.

You'll get:

(A) E-MU Morpheus unit shipped in the original box with foam sides, boxed again within the shipping box.
(B) 512 MB memory card, formatted loaded with presets, hyperpresets, and midimaps (pictured)
(C) power cable (D) a download link to the sysex factory bank, and a few more full sysex banks (E) bonus: two more download links to a synth/keys/orchestral .wav sample library totaling 6GB. (This sample library cannot be used with the Morpheus, but you could use it with a wide variety of samplers and with NI Kontakt.)

Condition: excellent - see pictures. The last picture shows a scratch on the top casing, the worst cosmetic issue with the whole unit."

Death By Audio Rooms, Walrus Audio Julianna, and Soma Lyra-8

Matt Lowery

"I spent some time with the Death By Audio Rooms this week. I love how it softens and expands the Lyra-8. I also love using the Julianna to add a very subtle drift on top of the reverb.

Four of Rooms' Six modes are demonstrated in this video.

Enjoy!"
