ESK - Yamaha YC-45D Ribbon

"The combo organ Yamaha YC-45D has a ribbon controller (called Portamento) which is great. Really fun to play.
So i made a little demo of it.

It has the preset sound „Slide Trombone“, „Squawk“, „Birds“ which has a repeat effect and „Astro“ which is with ringmodulation. Additionally there is a filter effect „Auto Mute“.
The pitch on the ribbon corresponds to the same note on the keyboard below. That's helpful to play it in tune with the keyboard.

After playing the different sounds solo i add a delay effect from the 1010music blue box mixer.

It provides a great selection of resources which can add an organic, natural element to any production, and sound great with ambient, chillout, IDM, techno, tropical & psychedelic styles.

ORGANIZM CONTENTS
The exhaustive collection of 64 finely crafted patches includes metallic and glassy mallets, clear and ethnic flutes, organ-sounding keys, dynamic sentient leads, bulbous basses and atmospheric elemental textures. Many of the sounds have a wide range of variation, utilizing the macros to go from clean to noisy, organic to electronic, from short stabs to long trailing pads.

The high quality samples are built around a carefully recorded selection of hits from a traditional Jordanian frame drum. Apocalypse, Shallow Water, Mood, Astral Destiny & Zoia Pedalboard

The pedalboard and power supply are a Voodoo Lab Dingbat Small EX and Pedal Power 3. The Death By Audio Apocalypse provides plenty of distortion, then the Fairfield Circuitry Shallow Water adds modulation and warbling tape effects. Then the Chase Bliss Mood provides delay and looping, the Earthquaker Devices Astral Destiny is a reverb with pitch shifting decays. Then the Empress Effects Zoia can add stereo effects to the end of your chain, you can use it as a drum machine to play along with, or you can run midi in and play it as a synth.

In this video we ran a guitar into the pedalboard and dialed in a few sounds, but you could definitely use this board with a keyboard or modular synth. Since we didn't run the board into an amp we used a Strymon Iridium as an amp simulator at the end of our chain in this video."
