"This is a really nice example of the top of the line 4 operator Yamaha synth module.

Generally less well known than its predecessors the FB01 and the TX81Z it is better featured also possessing stereo effects, 8 note polyphony, 8 part multi timbral and an 8 track sequencer a card slot for ROM or memory and a fast edit feature.

There are 99 preset voices, 99 user voices already programmed and I am including an RCD102 Contemporay ROM which integrates seamlessly giving instant access to nearly 300 voices in all."

Sonicware Liven XFM Prototype - Demo 7 - Realtime Polymeters

video by ChrisLody

"So this is the penultimate Liven XFM only demo before it launches. This demo is designed to show of the polymetric capabilities of the Liven XFM. Each of the 4 onboard tracks can have it's own number of steps and associated note value that will start in sync on step 1 and then run at there own speed and rhythm depending on those settings. Changing patterns will sync up with the longest number of steps as far as I can tell. My step lengths here are 64, 18, 16 and 18. The track the kick on is 64 steps long so the pattern change is synchronized to it looping. Just like the other XFM only demos I've made so far, this is all the XFM in real-time with a little compressor and limiter just to get the volume level right for YouTube.

Unlike on the Liven 8bit Warps where the audio looper has to be used to build up polymeters, this happens all in realtime on the XFM so some very complex patterns can be built up and tweaked as the sequencer plays. Great fun :)"

Korg Volca Drum + LightpadBlock + iPad Jam

video by Perplex On

"Little proof of concept jam using the #volcadrum in combination with the iPad and a #lightpadblock. The Volca is sequenced by #poly2 while #mozaic is sending midi program changes to switch between different drum kits on the Volca. Besides various midi cc s&h lfo‘s are modulating the waveguide model decay, tune and body. The #lightpadblock is loaded with pentagome patch sequencing Autumn piano loaded into Decent Sampler."

Polaxis Mea MIDI

Playlist:

1. Mea MIDI
Mea vox now behaves as an external MIDI instrument :
- MIDI note assigned to 39 phonemes.
- Velocity and Pitch bend supported.
- Can hold the note for singing effect.

I renamed the notes with Ableton Live MIDI Effects rack to help in sequencing phonemes by their sound. It is very easy to build a sequence!
2. Mea numbers
Emy with Mea-vox addon board. Testing the new version of the code with number grouped (0-1,0-9,0-20) Emy's Usb port is connected to a computer to render the video. (driven by the speech) inspired by Alva Noto & Anne-James Chaton
3. MEA now with phoneme groups (video done with Processing)
Emy hosting the vintage MEA8000 french speech synthesizer chip.
New Phoneme groups (Voyelles/Consonnes/Syllables/Tous)
Playing with phonemes, inspired by Alva Noto & Anne-James Chaton
Emy’s serial port connected to Processing to display the phonemes in sync.

Best Ambient Synth Shootout #110: Casio HT-3000 - Song 1

video by Christian's Sonic Spaces

"This is the first song with the HT-3000. It's a 8-voice synthesizer based on 'Spectrum Dynamic' SD Synthesis and has a single real analog 4-pole voltage-controlled filter. My HT-3000 has the legoluft filter mod (http://legoluft.de/tech/bending/e-cas...), so that the frequency and resonance can be control in real-time via two separate knobs (on the left side above the pitch bend wheel).

I used for the recording the following FX chain: HT-3000 - Digitech Obscura - Pigtronix Echolution 2 Deluxe - GFI System Specular Reverb 2. Depending on the recorded track some FX are deactivated

The signal went through a Presonus StudioLive 16.0.2 into the PC via USB for recording. To create the complete song I recorded consecutively several stereo tracks. The final song was then mastered with a bit EQ and compression on some tracks and some limiting on the master track."

VOLTLIFE: performance controls and generative effects with Squarp Hermod

video by voltlife

"An annotated jam showing some ways to use Hermod’s MIDI effects, CV inputs and mute buttons to turn a very short sequence into a performable environment for live exploration. There’s also some self-patching and internal modulation that’s not shown here."
