The OB-Zen Nocturne: An OB-6 with a Zen delay

video upload by Richard DeHove

"I bought the Erica Synths Zen Delay intending to pair it up permanently on drum duty. On a whim I hooked it up to my OB-6 and I think that's where it going to live from now on. There's something about the Zen that seems to pair with the OB-6 so well, some added soft richness and a dreamy reverb-like quality.
This track is a single take recorded as a MIDI track into Reaper. I then played back the melody while tweaking the filter and resonance as you see here. There's absolutely no other effects, automation, sounds or tweaking. Just an OB-6 and a Zen.

"This TTSH is in great shape and sounds incredible. This unit has some sort of clock bleed in the oscillators that is very subtle, but known to be a common issue. You can hear the bleed in our demo video at the 46 second mark. Once you have a patch going and things moving you can not hear the bleed at all, it's only when the oscillators are droning straight to the output. Unit is also missing the manual gate button, but that can be replaced for under $2.

TTSH also comes with both filter cards. This unit also comes with the gate booster mod pre-built, but not installed. And comes with the Shapers and Sync pcb's for extra mods.

Comes with 24V Mean Well power brick and IEC."

TOP 10 Iconic Synth Sounds (that ruled the world)

video upload by Espen Kraft

"In this video I present a list of my top 10 iconic synth sounds. Sounds that ruled the world in terms of chart hits. Sounds are coming from synths as Yamaha DX7, Roland Jupiter-8 and Juno-106, some sampler sounds from the Fairlight and Emulator 2 and Korg M1, D-50 and many more.

In the case of the 'synth brass', lots of other analog synths were used for different songs and hits, like the Oberheim OB-Xa, Elka Synthex, Prophet 5 and more. The same for the 'sync' sound.

External reverb, delay and chorus were used on some of the sounds. All sounds has been mixed and processed in various way to sound good. All the sounds are coming from the gear you see in the video. No softs or VST synths were used.
Two added bonus famous sounds in the video, one in the very beginning and one at the end. First is a variation of the infamous "Orch5" sample from the Fairlight, while the other is from the D-50.

Here are the links to (most) of the songs referenced in the video:

Shoegaze with the Sequential Pro 3

video upload by Synthetic World 859

"This improvisation and patch was inspired by My Bloody Valentine, one of my favorite bands. Looks like Perfect Circuit also put up a shoegaze video today...I recorded this a few months ago and forgot about it until now! Lots of aftertouch bends going on here"
