Hologram | A Hologram Microcosm ambient demo

video upload by MIDERA

"The Hologram Microcosm came today. It sat only for a few minutes on the front porch. I wasn't home. My neighbor had to take it in. I was with my wife at the hospital - seeing whether she was in active labor or not.

She wasn't. We were a bit defeated and came home to eat pizza and watch Lord of the Rings. But then she was too tired, so I came down to my studio and plugged in the Microcosm and tested it out.

Mostly - you will hear it on its own as I cycle through different effects. I think I still need to learn how to use it though, but I made some little ambient piece that might hopefully give you some of its flavor. The effects knob was completely 100% (i.e., 100% wet effect). This is why I didn't really think it was worth bringing up my Polysix as the star of the show, because it wasn't.

No other FX added."

Patchwerks Seattle Staff Favorite: Erica Synths Black Sequencer

video upload by

"In this video resident expert Nick Bigelow demonstrates why he loves the Erica Synths Black sequencer.

The Black Sequencer features 4 channels with CV, gate and modulation outputs, up to 64 step sequences that can be chained into songs, independent track time divisions, multiplications and lengths. It includes a built-in quantizer, LFOs, envelope generators, parameter randomization, a MIDI in/out and many other features essential for composing and performing electronic and experimental music. Even though it provides many programmable parameters per step, it’s intuitive, easy and straightforward to use, and we believe that it will become a master controller for many modular setups.

ARP 2600 w GRP R24 Sequencer + Swiss Daisy DSP

video upload by O.Z. Hall

"The GRP Synthesizer company's R24 sequencer is driving two voices on the ARP 2600 and a third voice provided by the ZebraSynth.net Swiss Daisy DSP module, in "pluck voice" mode, with delay and reverb.
I'm using several features of the R24 including:
3 separate sequences (CV/Gate out ; MIDI also available)
Some sequences use the "ratchet" feature to double gate a single step.
The second row is only 6 steps, to provide a poly-rhythm for greater complexity (less monotonous ).

Thanks to my long time friend Rod Scott for loaning me the GRP R24. Check out his channel:

SILHOUETTE eins - synthesizer (Demo 2021)

video upload by Pit Przygodda

"This is my 2021 built synthesizer 'Silhouette eins'. (prototype)

It is an optical soundtrack synthesizer: Optical shapes are transformed into musical waves for audio and modulation in real time.

Infos:
http://www.silhouette-synthesizer.de

It is the successor of former prototypes (2017 - 2019).
'Silhouette eins' now extends the concept by the use of the generated waves not only for audio but also for modulation."

"VIDEOVOX is a synthesizer which transfers video-data into audio-data.
It´s a prototype, programmed under Pure-Data.
More info:

Pit Przygodda"
