Update: Optotronics Synth DIY Eurorack System:

Update2:

"These are raw recordings of my new eurorack system. The boards' layout and panels were designed by me. All of the modules were based on quite standard designs: diode ladder VCFs, CEM VCOs, OTA VCAs, basic LFOs, discrete envelopes and single PT2 delay.

CV was generated by Korg SQ1 and Instruo's Harmonaig.

I kept modules quite simple, as the system was made specifically for future workshops and DIY kits (soon available via etsy shop)

The system will be keep growing in new modules!

Erica Synths Syntrx & Zen Delay with Make Noise 0-CTRL

video upload by Nightlife Electronics

"Here is a little demo showing the raw beauty of the Erica Synths Syntrx. Three vignettes that give a peak into the sonic underbelly of this vintage flared beauty.

The Syntrx user interface takes inspiration from the legendary EMS Synthi AKS and uses all original circuits designed in cooperation with engineers at the Riga Technical University .

Designed with experimentation in mind, the full complement of analog modules contained within are perfectly complemented with a very unique digitally controlled analog switch matrix that allows you to store up to 256 patches that can be recalled in a moments notice!

Teamed up here with the lush sound of the Zen Delay and pushed and pulled in time with the Make Noise 0-CTRL, a match made in heaven!

All three of these items are available now at Nightlife Electronics:

Mystery Buchla Easel Patch

video upload by Todd Barton

"All sounds are from the same patch, or as Don Buchla and Allen Strange called them, "instrument definitions." Only switches and sliders have changed. It is a patch I'm working on for my Patreon "Easel Patch of the Month" at https://www.patreon.com/synthtodd"

OB SuperVerb XVI: Sequential OB-6 + 2 X Alesis MIDIVerb II + QuadraVerb Plus + Audiothingies Dr. A

video upload by thesrabbit

"This is similar to my last vid, titled 'OB SuperVerb' [posted here], but now I've added the QuadraVerb Plus to the Alesis reverb stack. So, here we've got a MIDIVerb II on preset 28 (XLarge Warm 5 seconds) fed into a MIDIVerb II on preset 29 (XLarge Warm 15 seconds) fed into a QuadraVerb Plus on preset 75 (Taj Mahal). I've only tweaked a couple things on the QV, but it's very close to the stock preset sound.

In addition, I've got the Audiothingies Dr. A running in parallel, with my favorite go-to modulated plate reverb setting. This smoothes things out a bit as the Alesis stack on its own can get borderline clangerous, if that's a word. However, sometimes that clangy, feedback-like tone is just the ticket. I couldn't really decide on which version I like best, so I put them all here, including the "dry" OB-6 only version, which just has the internal FX. (DDL and BBD, with different delay times)

Which version is your favorite?

Contents:
0:00 Full Stack Developer Version (2 x MIDIVerb II + QuadraVerb with Dr. A plate reverb in parallel)
5:08 Alesis Reverb Stack Only (2 x MIDIVerb II + QuadraVerb)
10:15 Dr. A Only (Plate Algorithm)
15:21 OB-6 Only (No External FX)"

"Classic Oberheim Matrix 6 in full working condition. No issues on this one.. its ready for your studio or any stage.

This synth has that unmistakable OB sound at a price that is way more affordable than an OB8, OBXA!

Although you can fully edit any sound and create some wicked lush sounds.. I used a software editor to speed up that process. There are many great editors for Mac, PC and IOS.

This Matrix is in great condition in and out."

"Unlike most FM synthesizers that are very clean and digital, the YM2612 has very characterful tone allowing a broad sound palette ranging from beautiful plucked strings to growly distorted bass lines.

TACTILE OPERATORS

Hardware FM synthesizers are infamous for their reduced controls and complexity to program, with tiny LCD screens and only a couple of buttons to operate a load of menus…
With its 32 operators faders, 14 knobs and 15 buttons MEGAfm offers unprecedented hands-on FM control!

Every knob and fader can easily be modulated by the easy to use LFOs.

MAKE IT A DOUBLE!

The YM2612 chip offers 6 voices of crispy FM, 4 operators per voice and 8 algorithms.
MegaFM features 2 chips for a total of 12voices spread across two outputs (or summed to one)"

Resampling the Whole Track.. A Technique I've Wanted To Share // Can Circuit Rhythm Alias?

video upload by Ricky Tinez

"Yea i know i said WHOLE TRACK, and i just did a portion.. i ain't here to bore you to death haha. But you get the idea, play with something like this and resampling different portions of your track and see where that can take the arrangement!

Again, (broken record) I work at Novation and am using Circuit Rhythm to resample because i know it the best as of now. But you can Resample on most samplers! SP-404, Digitakt, MPC Live, MPC One, MPC Live II, Octatrack, the list goes on forever. You can even Resample in Ableton!"
