Roland HS-60 Demonstration

video upload by Vintage Synthesizer Solutions

"From our instructional video about how to replace the infamous voice chips on the Roland HS-60 and Juno 106. All sounds were made by the HS-60 and recorded without the use of effects, excluding the drums from the TT-606.

Watch the voice chip tutorial here :"

Roland Juno-106/HS-60 Voice Chip Replacement + Demo Track~

"Please join us while we show you how to replace the voice chips in a Juno-106/Juno-106S/HS-60. This video is quite long, but our goal when making this video was to create as comprehensive of a step by step guide as possible. Some important points are repeated multiple times intentionally, please ensure you heed all warnings if you plan to attempt this job. Alternatively, if you have any tips or best practices from your own experience, please don't hesitate to share them in the comments. We genuinely hope it is helpful for some of you. At the very least, it should give you a very good idea if this is something you'd even want to consider attempting yourself ;). The background music & demo track using this synth @ the end are also all original content!"

"This is the original 'Hobbyton' from Dr. Bohm.

It is a sytolphone organ in the original plexiglass case.

The organ was built in the early 80s and is in excellent and clean condition. It is played with a contact pen.

The organ is tunable, 2 octaves switchable and has a vibrato function as additional effect.. The device has its own amplifier and speaker.

The original user manual with music samples is also included and a lot of other information.

The instructions manual is also included (colored paper copy).

The device is works with a 9V block battery (not included).

The Böhm Hobbyton is in excellent condition and works 100%."

Oddball As Spherical Velocity Sensing Bouncy Percussion Interface

video upload by Perplex On

"Giving #oddball another spin using some own #maxforlive mapping. Hit strength is mapped to pitch height while velocity is also modulating some physical modeling parameters of #abletonlive #collision. This test just uses the velocity data coming from Oddball but there eventually will be an update which will also utilize gyroscope data. This will hopefully allow for even more versatility in mapping gestures to musical parameters. Audioreactive visuals made with #VisualSynthesizer and Uzu visualizer on iOS."

Best Ambient Synth Shootout #114: Kasser DAFM Synth - Song 3

video upload by Christian's Sonic Spaces

Christian's Sonic Spaces Kasser DAFM posts

"This is the third (quite dystopian) song with the DAFM Synth. It's an FM synthesizer based on either the YM2612 Yamaha chip (used in SEGA Genesis / Megadrive home consoles and various SEGA arcade game systems, including the Mega-Play, System 18, and System 32) or the cleaner sounding YM3438 chip (as in my DAFM) without the crossover distortion in the output. Both sound chips have six channels with four operators per channel.

I used for the recording the following FX chain: DAFM - KMA Machines CIRRUS - Pigtronix Echolution 2 Deluxe - GFI System Specular Reverb 2. Depending on the recorded track some FX are deactivated

The signal went through a Presonus StudioLive 16.0.2 into the PC for recording. To create the complete song I recorded consecutively several stereo tracks. The final song was then mastered with a bit EQ and compression on some tracks and some limiting on the master track."
