"Features:

15 adjustable filter channels with clipping indicators
Slew to create unique slurring effects
Silence bridging to fill periods of silence with the filtered excitation sign
Pitch shift (WRP1) to shift analysis filter channels up or down
Spectral tilt (WRP2) to manipulate the overall spectrum with a single knob
V/UV detection for automatic detection of voiced/unvoiced signals
Freeze to bring the vocoded signal to a standstill
Noise to select either pink or white noise for the excitation of unvoiced signals
BP/LP to select between low-pass or band-pass response of the lowest channel (100 Hz)
Line inputs for voice and exitation signals with clipping indicators
FFB Out to output the fixed-filter bank audio signal

Ambient Explorations pt.22 (Oberheim SEM)

"I was able to borrow the Oberheim SEM for a few hours and see what its tonal possibilities and strengths are. I connected my Arturia Keystep 37 via a 5-pin MIDI cable into the input of the SEM, to be able to play it. What you are hearing is 3 separately recorded tracks that come together into one composition. I love its tone. It is a little bit different than Moog, it sounds more creamy and warmer in my opinion. Write in the comments what you think of it!

We share a passion for wavetables and single-cycle waveshapes, so it was a natural that we talk.

In our discussion, we cover everything from her history in electronics, the path to synth design, and a review of many of the synths that she has had her hand into. From the infamous Monowave, through the Modal 008, 002 and 001, and into the work developing the Dove Audio products (including some exciting new designs), we get a chance to hear how it comes together and where it is going in the future.
