A modern day warrior....
ReplyDeleteI always laugh when I hear people talk about the fat "Jump" sound on an OB-Xa. I *have* and OB-Xa, and while in unison mode it's definitely fatter than Fat Albert, I can't for the life of me get anything but thin crapola out of it polyphonically. If anyone has a tip for me, I'd be interested to hear from ya.
ReplyDeleteInteresting. I'll probably lose some readers because of this, but... I thought the EXACT same thing when I first tried one. What killed it was the audio output being considerably lower than other synths. You have to crank it's channel up. I also restored the factory presets to see what it originally sounded like. For some bizarre reason it sounded warmer/fuller to me. I then started programming new sounds from that. I'd try that and pump up the volume a bit. The beef is there.
