Finally, someone does digital correctly. This sounds great! i'm going to actually buy this if its mac intel au compat..
ReplyDeleteInteresting. Very creative, although it's sort of like what a lot of folks have been doing on their own with good samplers for years. Just take that $500 and get a good mic ;)
ReplyDeleteFor some reason, I fear it would be very CPU-intensive, but I suppose they were conscious of that when designing it.

Well, if you can really mangle stuff up into something bizzare or import samples, that's one thing.
ReplyDeletePlaying nepalese goat header horns that have been turned into an an average cathedral organ patch, seems sorta pat yourself on the back snobby.
I felt sorry for the guy as it didn't seem like he had much to offer beyond the crazy sampling they did.
IMHO, typically, spectrasonics sells overpriced sample CDs disguised as synths.
Ah well, not that I'll buy it, but I await further demos..
Right. The sample sources may be interesting, but that "skinning a flaming cat while on the planet Venus" still ends up sounding like a bell.

ReplyDeleteit is not you...its me too....the synth engine just squeezes the neat sounds into digital dullness IMO
ReplyDeleteI agree completely. It sounds like a cross between a D50 and any number of newer mainstream synths.
ReplyDeleteWhat's the point? Products like Poseidon and Absynth are infinitely more interesting, IMHO.

Well, Eric Persing is largely responsible for the success of the D-50 as his factory presets were the most memorable, and most abused.
