Filter doesn't work (part I)

"The patch i have used is: osc. cv input, gate input into the envelope generator (ADSR) and from the saw output to the VCA (this gives sound). When i put the saw input into the filter you only hear the envelope generator (the gate pulses) and no audio from the filter output section."

"I patch from the filter (incoming saw, without sound from the filter, you hear only the envelope generator) into the VCA and there is the sound again."

Broken patch cord? Are you looking for answers? Impossible to discern why this would be happening from that incredibly bad video. Tripod?
