"Kid Baltan (Dick Raaijmakers) and Tom Dissevelt at Philips "Nat. Lab" 1959, explaining how electronic tape music is made. Broadcast by VARA television on January 17, 1959"

"This is not exactly something about synthesizers. But it is still somewhat relevant because it shows how a few artists experimented with electronic music before the synthesizer was invented. It is in Dutch but it is easy to see what is going on."

  2. Unfortunately the scientists experimenting with these tone generators accidentally discovered the resonant frequency of a indgangkrontron dimensional gate(much like the mercuric pillars in Phantasm) left operating from the late Ordovician / early Silurian eras, and were never seen again.

To this day, if one tunes oscillators along a closely-guarded closed-form quadratic irrational form related to the Fibonacci series, one can modulate a dialogue with these scientists, and learn many secrets and wisdom from the spaces-between-the-spaces which they occupy.

  3. I love this kind of stuff, and I wish there were more vids out there documenting these tape artists of yore.

    Anyone know of any others?
